ROLLA, Mo. – For the second time in the spring portion of the season, Missouri S&T's Jeppe Thybo (Esbjerg, Denmark/Rybners Gymnasium) has been selected as Athlete of the Week in men's golf by the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Thybo earned the honor after earning medalist honors at the Ken Partridge Invitational that concluded Tuesday, where he shot a nine-under-par 207 in the three-round event.  After opening the tournament with a 73 in round one, Thybo recorded back-to-back rounds of 67 to win the top individual honor by five strokes.

During the tournament, he recorded 13 birdies – tied for the second-most among all players – as he was three shots under par on the par-three holes and finished six-under-par on the par-five holes on the course.  Thybo had seven birdies in the second round, which included four in the final eight holes of play and then posted four birdies and an eagle during the final round of play.

Thybo earned GLVC Player of the Week honors two weeks ago and also earned the award once during the fall semester.  It is the fourth weekly honor won by a Miner during the 2023-24 season as Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) earned the honor earlier in the spring.

Missouri S&T's next competition will be at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships beginning on April 22 in Smithville, Mo.
