ROLLA, Mo. – After earning medalist honors in the Miners' first tournament of the spring season, Missouri S&T's Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) was named Wednesday as the Player of the Week in men's golf by the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Miltun won medalist honors at the Maverick Spring Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz., that concluded Tuesday by shooting a 10-under par 134 in the two-day, 36-hole event.  Miltun posted scores of 67 on each of the two days of the tournament, recording the lowest score in round one and second-lowest among the 93 participants in the second round. Over the course of the two days, he finished with a tournament-best 15 birdies and also had an eagle on the par-five 14^th hole on Tuesday.

Miltun helped lead the Miners to the team title in the tournament, as S&T was the only team to finish under par as a group and won the tournament with a team score of 13-under-par, finishing 26 shots in front of Concordia-St. Paul.

The award is the third for Miltun in his career at Missouri S&T and second in the 2023-24 season, as Jeppe Thybo (Esbjerg, Denmark/Rybners Gymnasium) earned the honor back in September.

Missouri S&T's next competition is slated for March 16 and 17 at the Saginaw Valley Spring Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
