Miners Hosting Wayne State in Third Straight Home Series

ROLLA, Mo.  –  The Miners are 5-3 after their last series and look to bounce back against Wayne State College. This weekend's series against the Wildcats is S&T's last non-conference series of the season.
 
Dylan Mollett (St. Louis, MO/Oakville) has been the Miners' best starting pitcher through the first two series of the season. He is 1-0 in his two starts with a 3.09 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over 11.2 innings. He is also keeping opponents to a .190 batting average in 42 plate appearances. The team ERA is currently 5.63 with 68 hits and 3 homeruns allowed.
 
Garrett Weiner (Alton, IL/Marquette) continues to lead the team in batting, getting 11 hits on 26 at bats for a .423 average. He is also tied with Tyler Prince (Mexico, MO/Mexico) for the most RBIs this season with eight. Nick Krodinger (DeSoto, MO/DeSoto) has the best on-base percentage though, getting on 55.2% of the time.
 
About the Opponent:
Wayne State is currently 7-1 on the season, scoring 9+ runs in six of their eight games. Their team batting average is currently .309, led by Carter Thomas who is batting at .500 with 12 hits on 24 plate appearances. The only other player that the Wildcats have above .400 is Trey Wells at .423 with 11 hits on 26 at bats. They have kept their opponents to an ERA of .341 but have allowed 10 homeruns on the season. The Wildcats' best starting pitcher so far this season is Nathan Anderson, as he has given up seven hits in 11.0 innings, resulting in a 0.82 ERA.
