Miners Women's Basketball Welcome Upper Iowa on Thursday

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T Women's Basketball will welcome the Upper Iowa Peacocks on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.

Series History

The Miners are 2-0 all-time versus the Peacocks. Their first matchup came in 2009 and they last played back on Feb. 15, 2024, where the Miners won 66-64. Franchesca Metz (Downers Grove, IL/Nazareth Academy) tallied 14 points in that game, while Katelynne Roberts (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) had 11 points and eight rebounds.

About the Peacocks

Upper Iowa is 3-2 this season with a 1-0 record in the GLVC after they took down Quincy on Monday. Their two losses this season came against Winona State and Roosevelt, but they got back in the win column on Monday. In their 88-84 2OT win over the Hawks, Mia Huberty had 38 points with nine rebounds. She went 15-for-29 from the field and 4-for-8 from three-point range.

Huberty is first in the GLVC and fourth in all of NCAA DII in points per game at 22.8. Her 6.8 rebounds per game are second on the Peacocks. Against the Miners last season, Huberty had 16 points with five rebounds and three assists. Helen Staley is first on the team with 9.4 rebounds per game and third with 7.8 points per game. Upper Iowa was picked to finish in fifth in the GLVC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

About the Miners

S&T is coming off a 70-49 victory against Lincoln this past Monday. Norah Gum (Waterloo, IL/Waterloo) had 13 points to lead the Miners, while Roberts had 11. Between the two, they shot 10-for-15 from the field with 10 collective rebounds and six blocks. Metz picked up seven rebounds with five points, three assists and two steals.

Metz leads the Miners with 10.4 points per game. On the glass, Roberts leads S&T with 5.8 rebounds per game and is third with nine points per game. From three-point range, Addyson Kent (North Vernon, IN/Jennings County) is shooting 50% with 15 made three-pointers this season. Morgan Luebbering (St. Thomas, MO/Fatima) is shooting 57.7% from the field for S&T. The Miners were picked to finish 12th in the GLVC.
