ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Missouri S&T Swimming picked up two wins on Friday against Missouri-St. Louis and Maryville.
They edged UMSL 104-101 and dominated Maryville 174-18 on Friday to move to a 3-2 overall record.
The Miners started out the meet with a 400-yard medley relay win with a time of 3:25.27.
Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe) put up a 1:43.98 in the 200-yard freestyle to win the event.
Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) clocked in at 1:53.82 in the 200-yard IM for another S&T win.
Oscar Iden (Oslo, Norway/Oslo Private Gymnasium) collected a first-place medal in the 100-yard butterfly with a final time of 51.68. Wiedemeier recorded another first-place finish with a 47.04 in the 100-yard freestyle.
Aidan Walters (Olathe, KS/Olathe East),
Oskar Fridsell (Solna, Sweden/Solna Gymnasium) and
Cameron McCrary (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt West) finished in the top three in the 100-yard backstroke for the Miners. Bichsel ended the day with the last win for the Miners as he had a time of 58.13 in the 100-yard backstroke.
What's Next
With both wins, the Miners moved to 3-2 before the calendar flips to the new year. S&T will be back in action on Jan. 11 at Quincy at 1 p.m. They will compete at Truman State on Jan. 18 before they return home on Jan. 24 to face Rockhurst. The GLVC Championships is scheduled for Feb. 11-15.
