ROLLA, Mo. – Tim Holloway, a former standout for Missouri S&T's men's basketball program and a member of the Miner Athletics Hall of Fame, has been chosen as one of the Filbert Five members for the 2024 class of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

The enshrinement ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24 at Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis.  This year's class includes 12 individual inductees, along with three teams and a program.  The Filbert Five – five men and five women are selected -- recognizes former all-state basketball players in the state of Missouri, along with college and professional players who made positive contributions in the game and beyond.

Holloway came to Missouri S&T following a spectacular career at McCluer High School in Florissant, Mo., where he was an all-metro St. louis selection and the Suburban North Conference's Player of the Year following the 1992-93 season when he led the conference in scoring with an average of 19.5 points per game.  He played on the St. Louis Eagles AAU team as well, where he was the top scorer for that squad.

During his career at S&T that ran from 1993-97, Holloway tallied 1,571 points, which was second on the Miners' all-time list at the time of his graduation (the total is now sixth all-time), as well as 241 three-point baskets, 343 assists (both third-most in program history) and 348 free throws made, the fourth-most ever by a Miner.  He holds the school record for the best single-season free throw percentage mark of 90.6 percent in the 1996-97 campaign and over a four-year career at 84.3 percent.

He led the Miners in scoring in each of his final three seasons, including a mark of 17.3 points as a senior that ranked fifth in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in the 1996-97 season.  His 87 double-figure games are the third most by any player in Miner history.

Holloway was a three-time All-MIAA selection, including a first-team honor following his senior year.  As a junior, when he averaged 13.5 points per game, he was a key member of the Miner team that won the MIAA regular season and tournament championships and reached the championship game of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional held in Rolla.

He earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Missouri S&T in 1997 and was inducted into the Miner Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.  Holloway currently the vice president of business administration at Keefe Group and also serves as president of the Bradley Beal's Elite Basketball Club in St. Louis.

The Filbert Five awards are named in honor of Gary Filbert, a former basketball coach who served as an assistant coach under legendary University of Missouri coach Norm Stewart and who would later found the Show-Me State Games. The other members of the men's Filbert Five include Brian Fogerty (Winfield High School/Fontbonne University), Jonathan Griffin (Normandy High School/University of Missouri-St. Louis), Austin Kirby (Parkway Central High School/Truman State University) and Joe Wiley (Belleville West High School/Saint Louis University).

Inductees into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame are individuals who were either born in the state, made their careers in the state or contributed to amateur or professional sports in Missouri at the time of their induction.
