ROLLA, Mo. – Miners Swimming defeated William Jewell 128-77 this past weekend in their second of three home meets of the season.
S&T started out the evening with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
Aidan Walters (Olathe, KS/Olathe East),
Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West),
Oscar Iden (Oslo, Norway/Oslo Private Gymnasium) and
Kevin Williams (Houston, TX/Westside) collectively clocked in at 1:33.96 to start the meet off strong.
Williams finished first in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:45.45. In the fourth event,
Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe) placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.48, while
Aidan Walters (Olathe, KS/Olathe East) was right behind at 21.63.
Bichsel finished first in the 200-yard IM, clocking in at 1:56.40, while Wiedemeier followed him up in the sixth event with a 100-yard butterfly win with a time of 51.73.
Gabriel Peragallo () collected a first-place finish in the 100-yard free at 48.93.
Oskar Fridsell (Solna, Sweden/Solna Gymnasium) was on top of the 100-yard backstroke as he finished at 50.88.
Once again, Williams placed first in the 500-yard free with a final time of 4:48.10. The 200-yard free relay of Wiedemeier, Fridsell,
Eli Wetzel (Springdale, AR/Don Tyson School of Innovation) and Peragallo finished first with a time of 1:26.85.
In total, the Miners won nine of the 11 total events against William Jewell to win 128-77. With the win, S&T moved to 1-1 on the season before they go on the road for a long period of time.
What's Next
Missouri S&T is on the road on Oct. 18 to face McKendree and Indianapolis in Lebanon, Illinois. The meet will start at 1:30 p.m. The Miners will not come back home until Jan. 24 when they face Rockhurst.
