INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Missouri S&T Women's Soccer fell to Indianapolis 2-0 on Sunday `afternoon.
At the start of the first half, the Greyhounds went up 1-0. Sarah Wegener put one in the back of the net at the three-minute mark. In the 13
th minute,
Melissa Parker (Chesterfield, MO/Marquette) was saved by goalkeeper Jenna Taghikhani.
Sarah Henze (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville) received a red card in the 23
rd minute as the Miners played the rest of the way with 10 players. Antiya Sidibe made it 2-0 in the 25
th minute to go into halftime with a two-goal lead.
The Miners started the second half down 2-0 but they picked up some chances midway through the half.
Grace Young (Sykesville, MD/Liberty) was saved in the 63
rd minute and
Greycen Erisman (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) was denied in the 70
th minute. S&T did not record another shot on goal as they fell 2-0 to UIndy.
Parker and Erisman both had two shots and one shot on goal. Young had the other shot on goal for the Miners. Goalkeeper
Anastasia Barcom (St. Louis, MO/Rosati-Kain) made 11 total saves, one away from her season high.
S&T dropped to 2-8-1 and 2-5-1 in the GLVC after their road trip.
What's Next
The Miners will come back home to face Quincy and Upper Iowa next weekend. They will face the Hawks on Oct. 18 at 5 p.m. and Upper Iowa on Oct. 20 at 12 p.m. Following the weekend, they will go back on the road to play William Jewell and Truman State on Oct. 25-27.
