ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T has announced that Michael Iseman, who served as the associate head coach for the men's basketball program at Rockford University for the past year, will join the S&T staff as an assistant coach for the Miners.
Iseman will be taking over the position previously held by Darreon Reddick, who is stepping down after accepting an assistant coaching position on the staff at Missouri State University. He will officially begin his duties at S&T on July 3.
Last season, Iseman was part of a staff at Rockford that led that team to a 13-11 record at the NCAA Division III school, but he has extensive coaching experience at different levels over his eight-year coaching career. Prior to coaching at Rockford, Iseman coached at the NCAA Division II level at Bemidji State University in Minnesota for four seasons.
During his time at Bemidji State, he helped lead the Beavers to its first win in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament game in six years during the 2018-19 season, as well as to its highest single-season winning percentage marks in nearly a decade. He was directly responsible for signing a pair of All-NSIC performers during his time at the school where he was heavily involved in all facets of the program, including serving as the recruiting coordinator, team academic advisor, running individual workouts, scouting, fundraising, directing camps and scheduling games.
Iseman's previous coaching experience also includes two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Jamestown in North Dakota and one at his alma mater, Central College in Iowa. At Jamestown, the Jimmies went 38-24 during his time there that included regular season championship in the Great Plains Athletic Conference and a pair of conference tournament berths.
During his one season as a coach at Central College, the team won the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament and earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Iseman played four seasons in the Dutch program, serving as team captain for three of them and helped lead to team to a 64-41 overall record, an IIAC regular season and tournament title and a berth to the 2014 NCAA Division III Tournament.
Iseman received his master's degree in Leadership in 2018 from the University of Jamestown and his bachelor's degree in Business Management from Central College in 2015.
