ROLLA, Mo. - The Missouri S&T baseball team continues its quest to make the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament field when it concludes the home portion of its schedule this weekend, as the Miners host Missouri-St. Louis in a four-game series.

The series starts Friday afternoon with a single game at 2 p.m., then the teams will face off in a doubleheader Saturday at noon and wrap up the series with a single contest on Sunday that will also begin at noon. On Saturday, the Miners' 12 seniors will be recognized for Senior Day with the ceremony beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m.

With two weekends remaining in the regular season, the Miners (19-19, 10-14 GLVC) currently stand in a tie for eighth place in the GLVC standings. S&T's final two opponents are currently ranked among the top six in the conference, with UMSL (21-21, 14-10 GLVC) in sixth place and Maryville, whom the Miners face next weekend, currently in third.

S&T enters this weekend series coming off a series defeat at the hands of McKendree, as the Miners were able to take game three by the score of 19-10. The Miners were led in that win by Dakota Sill (Lansing, KS/Lansing) as he drove in six runs which included a grand slam. In the series finale on Sunday, Sill broke the Miners' single season stolen base record with his 26th steal of the season.

Cole Hampton (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) currently leads the squad in batting with an average of .346 after he had five hits and eight runs batted in the McKendree series, while Doug Wood (Liberty, MO/Liberty North) is hitting .331 and also had a big weekend with eight hits and eight RBI to move his total to a team-high 49 on the season.

On the mound, Ethan Morrow (Lenexa, KS/Shawnee Mission West) leads the pitching staff with 39.2 innings pitched and has fanned a team-high 42 batters on the season while posting a 6.35 ERA. Estin McBroom (Monett, MO/Monett) looks to stay sharp on the mound after a six-strikeout outing that gives him 28 strikeouts in 33 innings of work.

The Tritons are led in batting by the duo of Brandon Olion and Carson Holin with averages of .350 each, with Olion leading the team with 49 hits while Holin has 48.  Holin also leads UMSL with 10 doubles and 72 total bases.

On the mound, Nick Torres leads the Tritons with 46.1 innings pitched in 11 starts and has struck out 25 batters while producing a 6.41 ERA. Another starting arm is Adam Rose with 39.1 innings of work while leading the staff with 38 strikeouts.
