ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field), who used a strong final two rounds to finish third at the Hillcat Classic this week, has been selected as the Athlete of the Week in men's golf by the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Miltun finished third in the 60-golfer field in the tournament held in Owasso, Okla. – where the Miners finished second in the team standings – as he rebounded from an opening round 79 to shoot two rounds under par to finish the tournament.  He recorded a two-under-par 70 in round two, then was four-under-par with a 68 in round three to elevate to third in the standings.

His third round score matched the lowest round by any player in the tournament and was highlighted by an eagle on the par-five 14^th hole.

Miltun is the second Miner to earn the conference's Athlete of the Week award this season, following Gustav Liljedahl (Uppsala, Sweden/Celsiusskolan) being selected following a tournament in September.

Missouri S&T's next competition will be at the Findlay Spring Invitational on March 27 and 28 in Lexington, Ky.
