ROLLA, Mo. – Six members of Missouri S&T's basketball teams have been selected as academic all-district selections on the teams released today by the College Sports Communicators.  The six individuals – four from the women's team and two from the men's squad – will be eligible for Academic All-America honors as those teams will be announced in March.

The women selected to the squad were Michaela Davis (Keokuk, Iowa/Keokuk), Katelynne Roberts (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville), Alex Kerr (St. Louis, MO/St. Joseph's Academy) and Eryn Puett (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge), while Dylan Singleton (Lincoln, IL/Lincoln) and Micah Johnson (Ankeny, IA/Centennial) represented the men's team on the squad.  To be eligible, student-athletes need to have a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average at the institution and have been at the school for at least one full academic year.

Kerr, the all-time leading scorer and rebounder in the history of the Missouri S&T women's basketball program, and Davis have started all 26 games for the Miners this season, while Roberts has started four games and Puett has appeared in 25 contests off the bench.

Kerr, who graduated last spring with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and is pursuing a Master's in business, is leading the team in scoring with an average of 16.2 and is atop the Great Lakes Valley Conference in rebounding with 10 per game as she has a league-high 14 double-doubles.  She has also also been named as the GLVC's Player of the Week three times this season, including being the recipient of the award this past week.

Davis is also majoring in biological sciences at S&T and has averaged 8.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game – second on the team in the latter category – while also dishing out a team-high 58 assists.  Roberts, a chemical engineering major, has averaged 3.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per contests while ranking among the team leaders in blocked shots with 11.

Puett, who is majoring in business, has averaged 2.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in over 11 minutes of action per contest.

Singleton has appeared in 24 games this season and has averaged 3.6 points and two rebounds per contest while recording 32 assists and 21 steals.  He is majoring in engineering management and business at Missouri S&T, while Johnson, a computer engineering major, has started in six of the Miners' 26 contests and has averaged three points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
