Miners Take Home Sixth at The Mule

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Back on the course at the Mules National Golf Club Tuesday, the Missouri S&T golf team wrapped up play at The Mule hosted by UCM in their final tune-up before postseason played begins later this month. The Miners (292-277-289=858) moved inside the top five at one point during the day but finished up the event with a sixth place showing for their fifth top-10 finish of the season.
 
Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) (72-72-69=210) again led the way and finished T8 overall as he recorded four birdies and was over par on only three holes to close out competition.
 
Jeppe Thybo (Esbjerg, Denmark/Rybners Gymnasium) (73-68-73=214) matched his opening round score on the final day and logged a trio of birdies along with nine holes at par to wrap up his event inside the top 20 at T19.
 
Gustav Liljedahl (Uppsala, Sweden/Celsiusskolan) (74-68-78=220) faced some challenges in the final round but did manage to turn in three birdies and eight holes at par to finish T49.
 
Fatt Hoe Yong (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia/SMK Seri Bintang Utara) (76-72-73=221) moved up six spots from the start of the day and made par 15 times to finish his event T55.
 
Colin Stolze (St. Louis, MO/Chaminade College Preparatory) (73-78-74=225) rounded out the S&T contingent and gained three spots on the leader board over the final 18 holes, recording a birdie and 12 holes at par to come home T71.
 
#13 Rogers State (282-279-271=832) won the event by nine strokes and was the only team to finish under par for the event. Harding (280-275-286=841) finished second, followed by #19 Central Missouri's A team (288-276-279=843). Central Oklahoma (289-274-283=846) and Southwestern Oklahoma State (282-285-286=853) rounded out the top five.
 
Drury (302-287-307=891), the other GLVC school in the field, back slid in the final round and finished 16th.
 
Up next, the Miners will begin postseason play April 15 at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis.
