10/5/2022 11:00:00 AM

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's women's soccer team looks to extend its unbeaten streak to four games on Friday as it will close out its three-game homestand with a visit from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  The Miners and Tritons will face off at 5 p.m. at Allgood-Bailey Stadium.

The Miners, 1-5-4 overall and 1-4-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, played to a pair of 1-1 ties last weekend in the first two games of the homestand.  S&T tied Southwest Baptist, getting a goal from Ashley Haag (Keller, TX/Keller Central) in that draw, then got a late first half goal from Paige VanDaele (Cottleville, MO/Francis Howell Central) to get a tie with Drury on Sunday.

Sydney Gratz (Geneva, IL/Geneva) continues to lead the Miners in goals with two and is tied with Andersyn Foster (Belleville, IL/Althoff Catholic) – who assisted on Haag's goal Friday – in scoring with four points.  Danielle Hopkins (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley) has a goal and an assist this year, while Lauren Bulcroft (Claremore, OK/Verdigris) has also scored for S&T this season.

In 887 minutes of playing time this season, Viktoria Johnson (Granite City, IL/Granite City) has recorded a goals against average of 1.62 and has been credited with 33 saves.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT: Missouri-St. Louis got a 2-1 win over Southwest Baptist Sunday and is at the .500 mark on the season heading into Friday's contest.  UMSL is 5-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the GLVC for 10 points, which has the Tritons in a tie with Lewis for fourth in the GLVC standings.
