ROLLA, Mo. – For the fourth consecutive year, Missouri S&T has a record number of its student-athletes that have earned places on the Academic All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honor roll for the 2020-21 season, with 232 of its members earning the honors for their work in the classroom.
S&T's 232 members were part of a group totaling 3,918 student-athletes from the 15 GLVC institutions and affiliate members of the conference in men's and women's lacrosse and women's bowling. The five associate members accounted for 55 of the selections, meaning 3,863 were named from the 15 institutions that compete on a full-time basis in the GLVC. The average of 257.5 per GLVC school is also the largest average ever.
The Miners' football team had 36 of its members named to this year's squad, while the baseball team was represented by 27 student-athletes. This year's All-Academic team also included 24 members of the men's soccer team, 22 individuals from the both the men's and women's track & field squads and 21 members of the women's soccer team.
Of the 15 S&T sports, 10 of them had at least 10 individuals land a spot on the All-Academic team.
The honors were also extended to 14 members of the S&T swimming team, 13 members of the volleyball roster and 11 apiece from the women's cross country and softball teams, as well as eight each from the men's cross country and men's golf teams and five from the men's basketball, women's basketball and women's golf teams.
Each of Missouri S&T's athletic teams had representatives selected to the All-Academic team, which were awarded to all student-athletes with a 3.3 of better grade point average for the past school year with at least two semesters of an academic year at the institution.
