ROLLA, MO- After a spectacular rookie season that included a trip to the NCAA Regionals, men's golfer
Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Freshman of the Year.
Miltun racked up quite the resume this season; he notched four finishes in the top-five, including earning medalist accolades after taking 1st place in individual play and helping lead his team to match play in the GLVC Championships. Over the course of the season, Miltun averaged just over 74 strokes per round and chipped in a season-low 66 during the second round of the Midwest Regional this past fall.
Miltun becomes the first Miner golfer to win Freshman of the Year and was the first golfer to hail from S&T to make it to the NCAA Regionals since their restart in 2017.
Along with Miltun's honor, the team was selected as the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award winner for the GLVC in men's golf.
