ROLLA, Mo. – Fresh off a series win at Missouri-St. Louis that included two extra inning victories, Missouri S&T's baseball team will open its Great Lakes Valley Conference slate this weekend as it takes on the University of Indianapolis in a four-game series in Westfield, Ind.
The Miners and Greyhounds were originally scheduled to face off at the S&T Ballpark in Rolla, but with substantial rain in the forecast this weekend, the series was shifted to Indiana where the Miners will still serve as the home team for the four games. The first game of the series will take place Friday at 2 p.m., followed by a noon doubleheader on Saturday and single game on Sunday that will start at noon.
S&T took three of four over the past weekend at UMSL to even its record at 4-4 and won twice in extras, taking the second game of the series 3-0 in eight innings on
Tate Morrell's (Lloydminster, AB/) three-run homer in the eighth and the series finale in 11 innings after scoring four times in the top half of the frame.
The other win in the set came in the opener as
Cade Meier (Dakota, IL/Dakota) threw a complete game where he allowed only six hits and struck out eight. Meier has an earned run average of 1.80 in his two starts this season and has fanned 15 hitters in 15 innings while allowing only 11 hits.

Dylan Dunbar (West Plains, MO/West Plains), who had five shutout innings while allowing only two hits. Both hurlers also finished their outings with eight strikeouts apiece.
As a team, the Miners own a .300 batting average which is led by
Michael Ward's (Hazelwood, MO/Hazelwood West) .529 mark; Ward also has five runs batted in and has a .640 on-base percentage this season.
Brady Wildschuetz (Foristell, MO/Francis Howell) is hitting .429 on the season, while

th inning Sunday, has a team-high seven runs batted in and Wood has knocked in six.
Brady Voss (Lake St. Louis, MO/Liberty) leads the Miners with six stolen bases on the season.
UIndy, picked to finish third in the GLVC's Blue Division in the pre-season poll, is 1-5 to start the season after winning one of three at Tusculum to start the year and getting swept by Northwood two weekends ago.
Outfielder Brandon DeWitt leads the Greyhounds with a .364 average among those who have played in more one-half of UIndy's games, but as a team the Greyhounds are hitting only .195.
