ROLLA, MO- Fresh off a win over Maryville, the Miners looked to continue that streak over Lindenwood today. While S&T stayed with the Lions for the majority of the game, LU would pull away late in the fourth quarter to hand S&T the 80-72 loss.
Looking at a 4-4 tie less than two minutes into the game, Lindenwood got back-to-back three-pointers from Devin Fuhring to put the Miners at a six-point deficit. Both teams would trade buckets the rest of the quarter before S&T for a quick jumper in the lane from 
Laura Rodriguez (Gran Canaria, Spain/Baloncesto Torrelodones) to put the Miners down 17-14 heading into the second quarter.
S&T fought their way back to tie the game, and even take the lead off a lay-up from 
Eryn Puett (Columbia, MO/Rock Bridge) with 1:44 left in the half.
Lindenwood would tie the game back up with two free-throws from Ellen McCorkle before 
Laura Rodriguez (Gran Canaria, Spain/Baloncesto Torrelodones) completed an and-one ply to put the Miners put 31-28. The teams would take the 31-31 tie into halftime after Devin Fuhring drained another three-pointer for the Lions just before the buzzer.
The Miners kept their lead for the better portion of the third quarter before Lindenwood's offense caught fire. LU scored on three consecutive possessions to regain their lead at 49-46. 
Alex Kerr (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph's Academy) would sink a short jumper from the corner with 1:59 left in the quarter to get the Miners with one but Lindenwood's Hennessey Handy found Ellen McCorkle open under the basket for a lay-up to take a 51-48 lead into the final quarter.
S&T struggled to stop the Lions offense in the final 10 minutes; after looking at a deficit as much as 11, the Miners were able to fight back within six after two deep three-pointers from 
Laura Rodriguez (Gran Canaria, Spain/Baloncesto Torrelodones) and 
Kristen Keys (St. Louis, MO/Westminster Christian Academy). But, five made free-throws from Lindenwood in the final 42 seconds of the game would secure their 80-72 win.
Laura Rodriguez (Gran Canaria, Spain/Baloncesto Torrelodones) led the way for the Miners with 23 points while 
Kristen Keys (St. Louis, MO/Westminster Christian Academy) and 
Marta Durk (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) added in 15 and 11 points, respectively. 
Jada Lindesmith (St. Peters, MO/Lutheran) had a career high 10 points off the bench tonight while going 2-3 from long range and 4-7 from the field. 
Alex Kerr (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph's Academy) led all players with 11 rebounds.
As a team, Missouri S&T (3-13, 3-13 GLVC) shot just over 44% from the field and went 8-15 from beyond the arc.
