INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced its final women's soccer weekly award winners of the season Monday afternoon and for the third time this season, Missouri S&T senior goalkeeper
Kristin Steins (Ballwin, MO/Parkway South) was named the recipient.
Steins posted her eighth and ninth shutouts of the season over the weekend as the Miners locked up a postseason berth for the first time since 2014 and completed the first unbeaten season at home in the history of the program.
Friday night against Illinois Springfield, Steins recorded two saves against eight shots faced in a 1-0 overtime decision, and on Sunday tallied four saves against 11 shots in a 1-0 win in regulation over Lewis.
Heading into this weekend's GLVC Tournament, Steins has 62 saves on the season and a goals against average of 0.90. Her nine solo shutouts are second in the GLVC this season and rank tied for fifth nationally.
(6) Missouri S&T (8-5-3, 7-4-3) is slated to take on (3) Truman State (10-3-3, 9-2-3) Sunday at 1 PM in Kirksville.
