Miners Close out Fall With Team Title at Ranger Invite

ENID, Okla. – It was the final day of competition for the fall portion of the season for the Missouri S&T golf team Tuesday as they took the course four round two at the Ranger Invite hosted by Northwestern Oklahoma State. The Miners (286-293=579) took home their second team title since the program restarted in 2017 and first since April of 2019 and landed their first medalist at an event since last spring's GLVC Championships.
 
Gustav Liljedahl (Uppsala, Sweden/Celsiusskolan) (69-72=141) picked up Tuesday right where he left off Monday, picking up a pair of birdies on back-to-back holes early in the round before carding an eagle on the 487-yard par-5 6th. He went on the play even par on seven holes on the back nine and took home a runner-up for his first medalist honors since the fall of 2019 when he shared the top spot at the USI Dan Salisbury Memorial Invitational.
 
Colin Stolze (St. Louis, MO/Chaminade College Preparatory) (70-77=147) had a soldi round going until some difficulty on the par-3 11th but rebounded with a birdies on the next hole. He finished the round with 11 holes at par and finished the event T5.
 
Jeppe Thybo (Esbjerg, Denmark/Rybners Gymnasium) (73-74=147) continued his consistent play from Monday into the second round, as he recorded three birdies on the front nine and recorded nine holes at par to close out his event with a T5 result.
 
Carl Miltun (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) (77-72-149) improved from his opening round Monday and carded a pair of birdies and logged 13 holes at par to post one of his best rounds of the fall and finish T8.
 
Fatt Hoe Yong (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia/SMK Seri Bintang Utara) (74-75=149) turned in four birdies in his final round, including a pair on back-to-back holes on the front nine, and played six holes at par to finish the event T8
 
Nihal Shah (London, England/Culford School) (83-77=160) recorded a pair of birdies on par-3s in his second round and played nine holes of par golf to complete his event competing as an individual with a T31 finish.
 
The rest of the top five included Garden City Community College (302-287=589), Southeastern Oklahoma State (299-297=596), Northwestern Oklahoma's "A" team (296-310=606) and Arkansas Monticello (312-306=618).
