ROLLA, Mo. – After snapping a six-game losing streak Monday with a victory at Maryville, Missouri S&T's men's basketball returns home for a Thursday engagement with Rockhurst at Gibson Arena before heading back to the road for three Great Lakes Valley Conference contests.

The Miners will host the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night before heading to the road for three games beginning with Saturday's 3 p.m. contest against William Jewell in Liberty, Mo.  Missouri S&T will wrap up the road stretch with games next week at Drury and Southwest Baptist before playing six of their final eight GLVC games at Gibson Arena.

Fans attending Thursday's game will also have an opportunity to enter a drawing for a four-ticket family pack to the Harlem Globetrotters event that will take place at Gibson Arena on Feb. 4.  The drawings – which fans can participate in upon entrance to the arena on Thursday – will take place at halftime of each of the two games of Thursday's doubleheader that will start with the women's game at 5:30 p.m.

The Miners got back on the winning track Monday thanks to a strong finish in the 72-61 win at Maryville, as S&T outscored the Saints 17-6 over the final 3:48 of the contest to improve to 4-10 overall and 2-6 in the GLVC.  CJ Hedgepeth (Evansville, IN/Harrison) had another big offensive night for the Miners with a game-high 24 points and four assists and also added six steals in the victory.

Hedgepeth is averaging 13.9 points per game on the season and leads S&T with 37 assists and 26 steals; he has averaged 19 points over S&T's last four contests.  He ranks second on the team in scoring to Dulan Scott (Chicago, IL/Farragut Academy), who added 20 points in the win at Maryville and is averaging 15 points per game, while Mitch Fairless (St. Charles, MO/Duchesne) is also averaging in double figures at 10.3 points per game after recording 15 on Monday.

ABOUT ROCKHURST: The Hawks remained near the top of the GLVC standings – they sit one game behind the conference leaders -- by pulling out an 82-79 win over McKendree Saturday afternoon in Kansas City, then followed that up with a 95-72 home victory over William Jewell on Monday behind 24 points from Curtis Lewis and another 20 from Nick Volz.

Lewis, the Hawks' leading scorer on the season with an average of 18.9 points per game -- a mark that ranks fourth in the GLVC -- tied his career high with 30 points in the win over McKendree and also broke the Rockhurst career assist record in the contest.  Lewis leads the Hawks with 57 assists and 35 steals entering play this weekend as he is among four Rockhurst players scoring in double figures this season.

Quinton Curry is averaging 14.5 points and a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game, while Volz is scoring 12.6 points per game and is aiding Curry on the boards as he is pulling down 6.9 per game.  The fourth double figure scorer is Chris Hamil, who is also scoring 12.6 per game and leads Rockhurst with 46 three-point baskets.

ABOUT WILLIAM JEWELL: The Cardinals own records of 6-10 overall and 1-7 in the GLVC following Monday's 95-72 loss at Rockhurst, despite shooting 52.3 percent in the contest and hitting 11 three-pointers along the way.  It was the first loss of the season for William Jewell in a game in which it shot at least 50 percent, in part due to Rockhurst's mark of 61 percent from the floor.

Eysan Wiley leads the Cardinals in scoring with an average of 17.2 points per game, which ranks sixth in the GLVC after scoring 16 points in Monday's setback.  He is also the league's top rebounder with nine per contest and has recorded a league-high 30 blocked shots on the season.

Wiley, however, is the lone double figure scorer for Jewell as it is averaging just 68.2 points per game as a team and is shooting 42 percent from the field this season.  Nick Bradley is averaging 9.2 points per contest and leads the Cardinals with 53 assists and 35 steals, while Robbie Hanson is averaging just under nine points per game.
