ROLLA, Mo. – Two members of Missouri S&T's baseball team have been selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-District team for the 2019 season and will be eligible for Academic All-America honors when those teams are announced in June.
Pitcher
Dalton Erger (Imperial, MO/Seckman) and outfielder
Kaleb Reid (Smithville, MO/Smithville) were the two Miners selected to the all-district squad and will be moved forward to the national ballot. The Google Cloud Academic All-America team for NCAA Division II will be released on June 5.
Erger, the Miners' starter in their Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament opener against Southern Indiana on Thursday, owns the fourth-best earned run average in the GLVC and possesses a 7-4 record with 70 strikeouts in 81 1/3 innings. He has won his last four starts of the GLVC season, including a win in which he threw seven scoreless innings Friday against Rockhurst and picked up five of his seven wins in GLVC play this year along with a win over nationally-ranked St. Cloud State earlier this season.
Reid, named to the all-district squad for the second consecutive season, is hitting .318 on the season with two home runs, 24 runs batted in and has stolen 18 bases on the season, which ranks among the top marks in the GLVC. Reid is also among the career stolen base leaders in school history as he has swiped 41 bases over his three seasons with the Miners.
