HENDERSONVILLE, TN- Despite the multiple schedule changes throughout the weekend, the Miners were able to split their final day of games in the Music City Invitational. They took down the Blue Knights of Urbana University 8-0 and fell to the Trojans of host school Trevecca Nazarene 9-5.

MISSOURI S&T: 8, URBANA: 0
The Miners took it to the Blue Knights in their first game of the day. After getting a day's worth of rest from their heartbreaking loss to Tiffin last night, S&T plated eight runs in six innings to take the easy 8-0 win.

Courtney Jackson (Parkville, MO/Park Hill South) got things started in the bottom of the 1st inning when she hit a double down the left field line on the first pitch she saw. Anna Klein followed suit with a single to short to reach base. Olivia Young (Millstadt, IL/Belleville Township) would send home the first run of the game with a single down the left field line to send Jackson home.

Carley Hamann (Frankfort, IL/Lincoln Way North) would pick up two RBIs later in the inning with a double to left-center field to send Young and Gretchen Egly (Joliet, IL/Plainfield Central) around the bases to give the Miners a quick 3-0 lead.

Anna Burke (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) would cross the plate in the second inning on an error committed by Urbana. Hamman and Jackson would tack on a run each in the 3rd and 4th innings to make it a 6-0 ballgame.

Gretchen Egly (Joliet, IL/Plainfield Central) would end the game in the bottom of the 6th inning with a 2 RBI single up the middle to score Young and Klein. The 8-0 win put the Miners at 3-4 for the season.

Olivia Walter (Catawissa, MO/Cor Jesu Academy) (2-1) got the start in the circle for the Miners going 6.0 innings with six strikeouts and only two hits.

MISSOURI S&T: 5, TREVECCA NAZARENE: 9
S&T did not see the same outcome as their game before; Trevecca Nazarene jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead before scoring another four runs in the later innings to take the 9-5 win.

The Miners saw their first run of the game in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Anna Burke (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) sent a ball through the left side and brought Olivia Walter (Catawissa, MO/Cor Jesu Academy) home to cut their deficit to 5-1.

Walter and Jacey Allen (Roanoke, TX/Byron Nelson) would connect for back-to-back RBI hits in the bottom of the 3rd inning to make it a 5-3 game.

The Trojans would answer in the top of the 5th with two homeruns to push their lead out to a five run advantage.

Missouri S&T would get two runs back in the bottom half of the 5th. Olivia Walter (Catawissa, MO/Cor Jesu Academy) would drive in the first run after a single to right field; Lauren King (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt North) would get credited with the second RBI of the inning after she drew a bases loaded walk that sent Hannah Smith (Oconomowoc, WI/Catholic Memorial) home and bring the Miners within three of the Trojans.

The Miners would not be able to connect for more runs in the 6th and 7th innings while TNU tacked on one last run in the top of the 7th for the 9-5 win.

Kate Baxter (New Bloomfield, MO/New Bloomfield) (1-4) got the start in game two pitching a complete game with one strikeout.
