ROLLA, MO- The Missouri S&T women's basketball team will squeeze in one last game before the Thanksgiving break, heading south to Southern Arkansas to take on the Muleriders on Tuesday afternoon.

Avila held a 38-35 lead over the Miners heading into the half, but Missouri S&T got the push they needed in the third quarter when they outscored the Eagles 29-7 and held them to just 17% shooting from the field. Mykala Baylor (South Bend, Ind./Clay) led the way with her fourth double-double of the year with 18 points and 11 rebounds while four other Miners reached double-digit scoring.

For the season, Mykala Baylor (South Bend, Ind./Clay) has led the offensive charge for the Miners averaging 13.2 points and 11.6 rebounds while adding in nine blocks. Maddie Raley (Haubstadt, Ind./Gibson Southern) has been hot from long range to start the season, going 12 for her first 32 shots and adding in 12.6 points/contest. Laura Rodriguez (Gran Canaria, Spain/Baloncesto Torrelodones) and Marta Durk (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) are the other S&T players averaging double figure scoring.

About Southern Arkansas:
The Muleriders have opened the 2019-20 season with a bang, coming out 4-1 with a key Great American Conference win over the 18th ranked Bisons of Harding University. This comes after going 3-25 a season ago and 2-20 in GAC play.

Southern Arkansas jumped Harding early, gaining a quick 6-0 lead over Harding and forcing nine first quarter turnovers. The aggressive defense of the Muleriders didn't stop there, they would go on to force 47 Bison turnovers and connecting for 41 points off them. Diamond Morris led all scorers with 21 points while going 9-10 from the charity stripe while Kylie Warren came off the bench for 11 points.

For the season, Diamond Morris leads the team with 10.8 points/contest while Ariana Guinn and Kylie Warren are right behind her with 9.8 and 9.0 points/game, respectively. The Muleriders are not as strong on the rebounds though, getting a team-best 6.8 from Kisi Young and 5.4 from Alyssa Crase.
The Miners are looking to get their second consecutive win over the Muleriders. Last season, S&T got scoring help from four different players and saw their post players, Mykala Baylor (South Bend, Ind./Clay) and Alex Kerr (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph's Academy), dominate on the boards.

After getting up by as much as 15 in the first half, the Miners held the Muleriders to just four three-pointers all game (12.5% from long range) while they connected for 21 points off Southern Arkansas' 18 turnovers.
