2018 Record: S&T is currently 0-1 overall and 0-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) to date after dropping a 1-0 season-opening non-conference match to Christian Brothers this last Sunday (Sept. 2) at S&T's Allgood-Bailey Stadium in Rolla, Mo.  The Miners are 0-1 at home, 0-0 on the road, and 0-0 at neutral sites to date.
 
S&T Head Coach – Joe McCauley (Louisville, 1992), Ninth season, 38-82-12 (.333).  McCauley, who's currently in his ninth season at Missouri S&T this fall after arriving prior to the 2010 season, led the Miners to a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament appearances and a GLVC Tourney Championship match outing in 2014.  He guided the 2014 S&T squad to its first conference title match following a tourney opening-round win at Bellarmine and a victory in. penalty kick shootout over defending champion Quincy.  Prior to S&T, McCauley served six seasons (2004-09) as the head coach at NCAA Division II Eckerd College after spending five seasons (1998-02) as the goalkeeper coach at NCAA Division I Northern Illinois where he assisted in guiding the Huskies to a 1998 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship title.  McCauley coached at fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) foe Bellarmine (Ky.) from 1991-97, which included taking over as the Knights' head coach in 1992.  McCauley began his coaching career in 1990 at NCAA-I Louisville instructing the Cardinal goalkeepers.

     *Emporia State: ESU improved to 2-0-0 overall to date this season following a 2-0 non-league road decision over Ouachita Baptist this past Sunday (Sept. 2) in Searcy, Ark.  The Hornets, under eighth-year head coach Bryan Sailer, completed the 2017 campaign at 8-9-2 overall and posted a 4-6-1 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) ledger.  All-Time Series – S&T trails 5-4-0 -- 2-2-0 Home, 2-3-0 Away, 0-0-0 Neutral; Last Meeting - W 2-1 (9/7/08 at Emporia State) 

     *Lindenwood (Mo.): The Lions, who are directed by first-year head coach Dave Musso, sport an 0-1-1 overall record to date this season.  In its most recent match, LU was dealt a 3-1 non-conference home loss by Maryville Monday (Sept. 3) in St. Charles, Mo.  Last season, the Lions notched a 5-12-1 overall mark and were 2-8-1 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) competition.  All-Time Series – S&T trails 19-5-0 -- 4-8-0 Home, 4-7-0 Away, 1-0-0 Neutral; Last Meeting - L 1-0 (9/3/17 at LIndenwood) 
 
All-Time Record: The 2018 campaign represents S&T's 37th season of intercollegiate women's soccer competition since the program's inception in 1982.  The Miners have presently amassed a 219-355-46 record (.390) to date.  S&T has recorded six 10 or more victories in a season – 10-5 (1983), 12-7 (1986), 12-6-2 (1994), 15-3-1 (1997), 10-7 (1998), and 10-7-1 (1999).  
  
Miner Notes: Sophomore goalkeeper Kristin Steins' (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway South) six saves against Christian Brothers last Sunday (9/2) equals her 2017 season output in 135 minutes of action for three appearances .... Junior forward Kayla Foster (Sand Springs, Okla./Charles Page) totaled a team-most six shots in the Miners' 2018 season opener versus Christian Brothers, which included two shots on goal ... S&T returns all of its top seven points leaders from a season ago in Kayla Foster (Sand Springs, Okla./Charles Page) (3-=6), Taylor Vollmer (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) (2-2=6), junior defender Chayse Richardson (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville) (1-4=6), senior midfielder Mikaela Mockenhaupt (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) (2-0=4), senior defender Carli Tastad (Millstadt, Ill./Belleville West) (1-1=3), junior defender-midfielder Julia Crets (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) (0-1=1), and senior midfielder Morgan Sikora (Highland, Ill./Highland) (0-1=1).

2018 GLVC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll: S&T was tabbed 14th in the 2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Coaches Preseason Poll as the Miners earned 14 points.  McKendree was picked to win the conference with 159 points and six first-place votes while Quincy garnered five first-place votes and garnered 151 points.  Bellarmine, which placed third, received the remaining three first-place votes and totaled 149 points.   Maryville (130 pts.) and Truman State (117 pts.) rounded out the top five, respectively.  Claiming the sixth-place spot was Rockhurst, which received 106 points, followed by Southern Indiana (103 pts.), Indianapolis (81 pts.), Illinois Springfield (68 pts.), and Lewis (56 pts.).  Missouri-St. Louis (52 pts.), Drury (50 pts.), and William Jewell (38 pts.) occupied places 11th through 13th.  The 14 league coaches weren't allowed to vote for their own teams.  

2018 S&T Roster: Missouri S&T's 2018 active roster consists of seven seniors, 11 juniors, seven sophomores, and four freshmen.  Twelve of the 29 student-athletes play at the defender position while nine others are midfielders, five goalkeepers, and three forwards.  Ten individuals hail from the state of Illinois while eight are from Missouri.  
  
2018 S&T Captains: Serving as S&T's captains for the 2018 season are junior midfielder Morgan Sikora (Highland, Ill./Highland), Taylor Vollmer (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West), and Mikaela Mockenhaupt (Oswego, Ill./Oswego).  
 
2017 Record: S&T concluded the 2017 season at 2-13-1 overall, which included a 2-11-1 GLVC mark.

Up Next: Missouri S&T commences GLVC play next weekend, Sept. 14 and 16, with a pair of outings.  The Miners host the Bellarmine Knights Friday, Sept. 14, in a 5 p.m. (CT) match at the S&T Soccer Field in Rolla.  S&T then closes out the weekend's action with a road contest versus the Quincy Hawks Sunday, Sept. 16, in Quincy, Ill.  A 12 p.m. (CT) start is slated for the league matchup at QU's Legends Stadium.
