Rolla, Mo. – A three-match home stand is up next for the Missouri S&T women's soccer team, starting with the Miners hosting a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) contests this weekend (Sept. 28 and 30) at the S&T Soccer Field in Rolla. S&T squares off against the William Jewell Cardinals this Friday (Sept. 28) at 5 p.m. (CT) before taking on the Rockhurst Hawks Sunday (Sept. 30) in a 12 p.m. (CT) encounter.
2018 Record: Missouri S&T improved its record to 2-4-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the GLVC after registering a 1-0-1 mark in last week's conference action. The Miners played Southern Indiana to a 0-0 two-overtime tie this past Friday (Sept. 21) in a league outing at the S&T Soccer Field in Rolla and then posted a 1-0 conference triumph over Drury Sunday (Sept. 23) at DU's Harrison Stadium/Curry Sports Complex in Springfield, Mo. S&T is 0-2-1 at home, 1-2-0 on the road, and 1-0-0 in neutral site matchups to date this campaign.
S&T Head Coach –
Joe McCauley (Louisville, 1992), Ninth season, 40-85-13 (.337). McCauley, who's currently in his ninth season at Missouri S&T this fall after arriving prior to the 2010 season, led the Miners to a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament appearances and a GLVC Tourney Championship match outing in 2014. He guided the 2014 S&T squad to its first conference title match following a tourney opening-round win at Bellarmine and a victory in. penalty kick shootout over defending champion Quincy. Prior to S&T, McCauley served six seasons (2004-09) as the head coach at NCAA Division II Eckerd College after spending five seasons (1998-02) as the goalkeeper coach at NCAA Division I Northern Illinois where he assisted in guiding the Huskies to a 1998 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship title. McCauley coached at fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) foe Bellarmine (Ky.) from 1991-97, which included taking over as the Knights' head coach in 1992. McCauley began his coaching career in 1990 at NCAA-I Louisville instructing the Cardinal goalkeepers.

William Jewell: The Cardinals sport a current 4-4-1 overall record with a 1-3-0 GLVC mark this season. WJC, under the direction of eighth-year head coach Jefferson Roblee, notched a 2-1 home league win over Missouri-St. Louis last Friday (Sept. 21) at Greene Stadium in Liberty, Mo., before suffering a 3-1 conference home setback to Maryville this past Sunday (Sept. 23). The Cardinals, who have dropped three of their last four outings, are 0-2-0 on the road, 4-2-1 at home, and 0-0-0 at neutral sites to date this campaign. Last season, WJC went 6-8-3 overall and was 4-7-3 in the GLVC.

Rockhurst: The Hawks are 4-3-1 overall and 3-1-0 in the GLVC this season as a result of tallying a 1-0 conference home triumph against Missouri-St. Louis this past Sunday (Sept. 23) at RU's Bourke Field in Kansas City, Mo. RU, which is directed by 19th-year head coach Greg Herdlick, dropped a 3-2 overtime home league decision to Truman State last Friday (Sept. 21). The Hawks, who are 0-1-0 on the road, 4-1-1 at home, and 0-1-0 at neutral sites to date this campaign, visit Maryville this Friday (Sept. 28) in St. Louis, Mo., before going up against Missouri S&T in a Sunday (Sept. 30) matinee. A season ago, RU compiled a 7-9-1 record overall and was 5-8-1 in conference match play.

All-Time Record: The 2018 campaign represents S&T's 37th season of intercollegiate women's soccer competition since the program's inception in 1982. The Miners have presently amassed a 221-358-47 record (.391) to date. S&T has recorded six 10 or more victories in a season – 10-5 (1983), 12-7 (1986), 12-6-2 (1994), 15-3-1 (1997), 10-7 (1998), and 10-7-1 (1999).

Morgan Sikora's (Highland, Ill./Highland) six points (3-0=6) this season in seven matches represents a personal career season best, eclipsing her two points (1-0=2) in 17 outings for the 2015 campaign. Sikora, who tallied her first career game-winning goal in S&T's 1-0 league win at Drury last Sunday (Sept. 23), has presently accumulated nine career points with four goals and an assist in 54 appearances ... Kristin Steins (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway South) notched her first career shutout in the Miners' 1-0 victory over Drury with a complete-match four-saves performance ... 2018 GLVC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll: S&T was tabbed 14th in the
2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Coaches Preseason Poll as the Miners earned 14 points. McKendree was picked to win the conference with 159 points and six first-place votes while Quincy garnered five first-place votes and garnered 151 points. Bellarmine, which placed third, received the remaining three first-place votes and totaled 149 points. Maryville (130 pts.) and Truman State (117 pts.) rounded out the top five, respectively. Claiming the sixth-place spot was Rockhurst, which received 106 points, followed by Southern Indiana (103 pts.), Indianapolis (81 pts.), Illinois Springfield (68 pts.), and Lewis (56 pts.). Missouri-St. Louis (52 pts.), Drury (50 pts.), and William Jewell (38 pts.) occupied places 11th through 13th. The 14 league coaches weren't allowed to vote for their own teams.
2018 S&T Roster: Missouri S&T's 2018 active roster consists of seven seniors, 11 juniors, seven sophomores, and four freshmen. Twelve of the 29 student-athletes play at the defender position while nine others are midfielders, five goalkeepers, and three forwards. Ten individuals hail from the state of Illinois while eight are from Missouri.
