Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T women's soccer team continues Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) action this weekend (Sept. 21 and 23) with a pair of contests. The Miners host the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles this Friday (Sept. 21) in a 5 p.m. (CT) match at the S&T Soccer Field in Rolla. S&T then travels to Springfield, Mo., this Sunday (Sept. 23) to take on the Drury Panthers. A noon (CT) start is scheduled for the in-state encounter at DU's Harrison Stadium/Curry Sports Complex.
2018 Record: Missouri S&T is currently 1-4-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the GLVC this season. This past week, the Miners were dealt a 4-0 conference-opening home loss by Bellarmine last Friday (Sept. 14) at the S&T Soccer Field in Rolla before coming out on the short end of a 1-0 league road decision to Quincy Sunday (Sept. 16) at QU's Legends Stadium in Quincy, Ill. S&T is 0-2 both at home and on the road while the Miners sport a 1-0 mark in neutral site matchups.
S&T Head Coach –
Joe McCauley (Louisville, 1992), Ninth season, 39-85-12 (.301). McCauley, who's currently in his ninth season at Missouri S&T this fall after arriving prior to the 2010 season, led the Miners to a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament appearances and a GLVC Tourney Championship match outing in 2014. He guided the 2014 S&T squad to its first conference title match following a tourney opening-round win at Bellarmine and a victory in. penalty kick shootout over defending champion Quincy. Prior to S&T, McCauley served six seasons (2004-09) as the head coach at NCAA Division II Eckerd College after spending five seasons (1998-02) as the goalkeeper coach at NCAA Division I Northern Illinois where he assisted in guiding the Huskies to a 1998 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship title. McCauley coached at fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) foe Bellarmine (Ky.) from 1991-97, which included taking over as the Knights' head coach in 1992. McCauley began his coaching career in 1990 at NCAA-I Louisville instructing the Cardinal goalkeepers.

Southern Indiana: The Screaming Eagles are presently 2-3-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the GLVC this season following a 2-0 conference road loss to Truman State last Sunday (Sept. 16) at TSU's Bulldog Soccer Park in Kirksville, Mo. USI recorded a 3-1 league home triumph over Drury last Friday (Sept. 14) at Strassweg Field in Evansville, Ind. The Screaming Eagles, who are under the direction of third-year head coach Eric Schoenstein, are 1-2-0 on the road, 1-1-0 at home, and 0-0-1 in neutral site contests this campaign and have won two of its last three outings to date. USI posted an 8-5-5 overall record for the 2017 season, which included a 6-4-4 GLVC mark.

Drury: The Panthers, under 13th-year head coach Alf Bilbao, sport a 0-5-1 overall record and are 0-2-0 in GLVC play this season. DU, which is 0-1-1 at home, 0-3-0 on the road, and 0-1-0 at neutral sites to date this campaign, suffered a 1-0 conference road setback to Missouri-St. Louis last Sunday (Sept. 16) at UMSL's Don Dallas Field in St. Louis, Mo., after falling 3-1 to Southern Indiana this past Friday (Sept. 14) in GLVC play at USI's Strassweg Field in Evansville, Ind. The Panthers play four of their next five contests at home, beginning this Friday (Sept. 21) against Maryville before taking on Missouri S&T Sunday (Sept. 23) at DU's Harrison Stadium/Curry Sports Complex in Springfield, Mo. Last season, Drury registered a 7-8-2 overall record and was 5-8-1 in conference match play.

The Miners have presently amassed a 220-358-46 record (.389) to date. S&T has recorded six 10 or more victories in a season – 10-5 (1983), 12-7 (1986), 12-6-2 (1994), 15-3-1 (1997), 10-7 (1998), and 10-7-1 (1999).

Morgan Sikora's (Highland, Ill./Highland) four points (0-4=4) in five outings this season is a personal career season best, surpassing her two points (1-0=1) in 17 contests as a freshman in 2015. Sikora accumulated three points (1-1=3) in a combined 47 appearances during her initital three (2015-17) seasons at S&T.

2018 GLVC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll: S&T was tabbed 14th in the
2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Coaches Preseason Poll as the Miners earned 14 points. McKendree was picked to win the conference with 159 points and six first-place votes while Quincy garnered five first-place votes and garnered 151 points. Bellarmine, which placed third, received the remaining three first-place votes and totaled 149 points. Maryville (130 pts.) and Truman State (117 pts.) rounded out the top five, respectively. Claiming the sixth-place spot was Rockhurst, which received 106 points, followed by Southern Indiana (103 pts.), Indianapolis (81 pts.), Illinois Springfield (68 pts.), and Lewis (56 pts.). Missouri-St. Louis (52 pts.), Drury (50 pts.), and William Jewell (38 pts.) occupied places 11th through 13th. The 14 league coaches weren't allowed to vote for their own teams.
2018 S&T Roster: Missouri S&T's 2018 active roster consists of seven seniors, 11 juniors, seven sophomores, and four freshmen. Twelve of the 29 student-athletes play at the defender position while nine others are midfielders, five goalkeepers, and three forwards. Ten individuals hail from the state of Illinois while eight are from Missouri.
