Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T women's soccer team begins Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play this weekend (Sept. 14 and 16) with a pair of contests. The Miners host the Bellarmine Knights this Friday (Sept. 14) in a 5 p.m. (CT) tilt at the S&T Soccer Field in Rolla, Mo., before traveling to Quincy, Ill., this Sunday (Sept. 16) to take on the Quincy Hawks. A 12 p.m. (CT) start is slated for the matchup at QU's Legends Stadium.
2018 Record: Missouri S&T, which is 1-2-0 overall and 0-0-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) to date, dropped a 1-0 non-conference match to Lindenwood (Mo.) last Sunday (Sept. 9) at LU's Harlen C. Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. The Miners, who are 0-1 at home, 0-1 on the road, and 1-0 at neutral sites this fall, tallied a 4-2 non-league win over Emporia (Kan.) State this past Friday (Sept. 7) in St. Charles, Mo.
S&T Head Coach –
Joe McCauley (Louisville, 1992), Ninth season, 39-83-12 (.336). McCauley, who's currently in his ninth season at Missouri S&T this fall after arriving prior to the 2010 season, led the Miners to a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament appearances and a GLVC Tourney Championship match outing in 2014. He guided the 2014 S&T squad to its first conference title match following a tourney opening-round win at Bellarmine and a victory in. penalty kick shootout over defending champion Quincy. Prior to S&T, McCauley served six seasons (2004-09) as the head coach at NCAA Division II Eckerd College after spending five seasons (1998-02) as the goalkeeper coach at NCAA Division I Northern Illinois where he assisted in guiding the Huskies to a 1998 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship title. McCauley coached at fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) foe Bellarmine (Ky.) from 1991-97, which included taking over as the Knights' head coach in 1992. McCauley began his coaching career in 1990 at NCAA-I Louisville instructing the Cardinal goalkeepers.

Bellarmine: BU improved to 2-2-0 overall to date this season as the Knights posted their second consecutive victory as a result of a 1-0 non-conference home decision over Northwood last Sunday (Sept. 9) in Louisville, Ky. The Knights, who are directed by fifth-year head coach Chris Tinius, are 0-2 on the road and 2-0 in home matches this season. A season ago, Bellarmine compiled an 8-4-7 overall record and notched a 6-3-5 mark in the GLVC.

Quincy: The Hawks, under first-year head coach Marc Hager, are currently 2-2-0 overall and 0-0-0 in the GLVC this season following a 2-1 non-conference loss to Ferris State last Sunday (Sept. 9) at the University of Indianapolis' Key Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. QU, which visits Rockhurst this Friday (Sept. 14) in its GLVC opener, is 0-1-0 at home, 1-0-0 on the road, and 1-1-0 in neutral site encounters this campaign. The Hawks finished the 2017 season at 17-4-1 overall with a 13-1-1 conference mark.

All-Time Record: The 2018 campaign represents S&T's 37th season of intercollegiate women's soccer competition since the program's inception in 1982. The Miners have presently amassed a 220-356-46 record (.391) to date. S&T has recorded six 10 or more victories in a season – 10-5 (1983), 12-7 (1986), 12-6-2 (1994), 15-3-1 (1997), 10-7 (1998), and 10-7-1 (1999).
GLVC Openers: The Miners are 2-10-1 (.192) in GLVC opening matches dating back to the 2005 season, which represents their initial season as a GLVC member. S&T, which fell 3-2 to Indianapolis last season (9/8) at home in its conference opener, sports a 2-5-0 mark at home and is 0-5-1 in away contests.

Morgan Sikora's (Highland, Ill./Highland) two goals against Emporia State last Friday (9/7) represents not only a career match-high but also a career season best. Mikaela Mockenhaupt (Oswego, Ill./Oswego)'s goal versus Emporia State represented the sixth of her career as the S&T tri-captain has now netted at least a marker in each of her four seasons. Her career single-season best is two goals, which came in 15 2015 matches and 16 2017 outings ...

2018 GLVC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll: S&T was tabbed 14th in the
2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Coaches Preseason Poll as the Miners earned 14 points. McKendree was picked to win the conference with 159 points and six first-place votes while Quincy garnered five first-place votes and garnered 151 points. Bellarmine, which placed third, received the remaining three first-place votes and totaled 149 points. Maryville (130 pts.) and Truman State (117 pts.) rounded out the top five, respectively. Claiming the sixth-place spot was Rockhurst, which received 106 points, followed by Southern Indiana (103 pts.), Indianapolis (81 pts.), Illinois Springfield (68 pts.), and Lewis (56 pts.). Missouri-St. Louis (52 pts.), Drury (50 pts.), and William Jewell (38 pts.) occupied places 11th through 13th. The 14 league coaches weren't allowed to vote for their own teams.
2018 S&T Roster: Missouri S&T's 2018 active roster consists of seven seniors, 11 juniors, seven sophomores, and four freshmen. Twelve of the 29 student-athletes play at the defender position while nine others are midfielders, five goalkeepers, and three forwards. Ten individuals hail from the state of Illinois while eight are from Missouri.
