Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T women's soccer team will play its final three Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) matches on the road, which includes visits to Lewis and Indianapolis this weekend (Oct. 19 and 21). The Miners commence conference road action this Friday (Oct. 19) evening against the Lewis Flyers in Romeoville, Ill., with a 7:30 p.m. (CT) start slated for matchup at Lewis Stadium. S&T then travels to Indianapolis, Ind., Sunday (Oct. 21) to face the Indianapolis Greyhounds in a 12 p.m. (ET) tilt at UIndy's Key Stadium.
2018 Record: Missouri S&T is currently 4-8-1 overall and 3-6-1 in the GLVC after notching a 2-1 league home triumph over Illinois Springfield (UIS) this past Sunday (Oct. 14) in its regular-season home finale at S&T's Allgood-Bailey Stadium in Rolla. The Miners, who are 2-2-0 on the road, 1-6-1 at home, and 1-0-0 at neutral sites this campaign, have won two of their last three outings to date. S&T suffered a 1-0 conference home setback to McKendree this last Friday (Oct. 12) night at Allgood-Bailey Stadium.
S&T Head Coach –
Joe McCauley (Louisville, 1992), Ninth season, 42-89-13 (.337). McCauley, who's currently in his ninth season at Missouri S&T this fall after arriving prior to the 2010 season, led the Miners to a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament appearances and a GLVC Tourney Championship match outing in 2014. He guided the 2014 S&T squad to its first conference title match following a tourney opening-round win at Bellarmine and a victory in. penalty kick shootout over defending champion Quincy. Prior to S&T, McCauley served six seasons (2004-09) as the head coach at NCAA Division II Eckerd College after spending five seasons (1998-02) as the goalkeeper coach at NCAA Division I Northern Illinois where he assisted in guiding the Huskies to a 1998 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship title. McCauley coached at fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) foe Bellarmine (Ky.) from 1991-97, which included taking over as the Knights' head coach in 1992. McCauley began his coaching career in 1990 at NCAA-I Louisville instructing the Cardinal goalkeepers.

Lewis: The Flyers are presently 8-4-2 overall and 7-3-0 in the GLVC this season and have won six of their last seven contests to date. Lewis, which is coached by 12th-year head coach Chris Koenig, posted a 2-0 league road victory over William Jewell last Sunday (Oct. 14) at WJC's Greene Stadium in Liberty, Mo., after having its five-match winning streak halted in a 2-0 conference road setback to Rockhurst this past Friday (Oct. 12) at RU's Bourke Field in Kansas City, Mo. The Flyers, who are currently 4-1-1 at home and 4-3-1 on the road this fall, registered a 6-8-3 overall record and a 4-7-3 mark in the GLVC last season.

Indianapolis: The Greyhounds, who are 6-7-2 overall and 3-5-2 in the GLVC this campaign, are midst a four-match losing streak after being dealt a 2-1 conference road loss by Rockhurst last Sunday (Oct. 14) at RU's Bourke Field in Kansas City, Mo. UIndy, under the direction of fourth-year Holly Cox, dropped a 2-0 league road decision to Truman State this past Friday (Oct. 12) at TSU's Truman Soccer Park in Kirksville, Mo. The Greyhounds are presently 5-2-2 at home and 1-5-0 in away encounters this season. UIndy completed the 2017 campaign at 8-7-2 overall with a 7-5-2 GLVC ledger.

Carli Tastad (Millstadt, Ill./Belleville West) tallied her first career game-winning goal in the Miners' 2-1 regular-season home conference finale win over Illinois Springfield last Sunday (Oct. 14). Tastad has presently accumulated eight career points (3-2=8) in 58 contests, which includes two points (1-0=2) in 12 outings this season ... Junior forward
Kayla Foster (Sand Springs, Okla./Charles Page) has posted three points (1-1=3) in her last three matches, which includes an assist on S&T's game-winning tally against Illinois Springfield (Oct. 14). Foster didn't record a point in her prior 10 appearances this fall.

2018 GLVC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll: S&T was tabbed 14th in the
2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Coaches Preseason Poll as the Miners earned 14 points. McKendree was picked to win the conference with 159 points and six first-place votes while Quincy garnered five first-place votes and garnered 151 points. Bellarmine, which placed third, received the remaining three first-place votes and totaled 149 points. Maryville (130 pts.) and Truman State (117 pts.) rounded out the top five, respectively. Claiming the sixth-place spot was Rockhurst, which received 106 points, followed by Southern Indiana (103 pts.), Indianapolis (81 pts.), Illinois Springfield (68 pts.), and Lewis (56 pts.). Missouri-St. Louis (52 pts.), Drury (50 pts.), and William Jewell (38 pts.) occupied places 11th through 13th. The 14 league coaches weren't allowed to vote for their own teams.
2018 S&T Roster: Missouri S&T's 2018 active roster consists of seven seniors, 11 juniors, seven sophomores, and four freshmen. Twelve of the 29 student-athletes play at the defender position while nine others are midfielders, five goalkeepers, and three forwards. Ten individuals hail from the state of Illinois while eight are from Missouri. Serving as S&T's captains for the 2018 season are junior midfielder

All-Time Record: The 2018 campaign represents S&T's 37th season of intercollegiate women's soccer competition since the program's inception in 1982. S&T has recorded six 10 or more victories in a season – 10-5 (1983), 12-7 (1986), 12-6-2 (1994), 15-3-1 (1997), 10-7 (1998), and 10-7-1 (1999).
