Rolla, Mo. – The midway point of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) regular season has arrived for the Missouri S&T women's soccer team as the Miners gear up for two league contests this weekend (Oct. 5 and 7). S&T plays host to the Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) Tritons this Friday (Oct. 5) in a 7 p.m. (CT) encounter at the S&T Soccer Field in Rolla, Mo., before venturing to Kirksville, Mo., this Sunday (Oct. 7) to face the Truman State Bulldogs in a 12 p.m. (CT) tilt at TSU's Bulldog Soccer Park.
2018 Record: Missouri S&T currently sports a 2-6-1 record overall and is 1-4-1 in the GLVC. The Miners suffered a pair of conference home setbacks this past weekend (Sept. 28 and 30) at the S&T Soccer Field in Rolla, Mo. S&T dropped a 1-0 decision to William Jewell last Friday (Sept. 28) and then was tagged with a 4-1 loss by Rockhurst this past Sunday (Sept. 30). The Miners, who are 1-3-1 in their last five appearances to date, are 0-4-1 at home, 1-2-0 on the road, and 1-0-0 in neutral site matchups this fall.
S&T Head Coach –
Joe McCauley (Louisville, 1992), Ninth season, 40-87-13 (.332). McCauley, who's currently in his ninth season at Missouri S&T this fall after arriving prior to the 2010 season, led the Miners to a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament appearances and a GLVC Tourney Championship match outing in 2014. He guided the 2014 S&T squad to its first conference title match following a tourney opening-round win at Bellarmine and a victory in. penalty kick shootout over defending champion Quincy. Prior to S&T, McCauley served six seasons (2004-09) as the head coach at NCAA Division II Eckerd College after spending five seasons (1998-02) as the goalkeeper coach at NCAA Division I Northern Illinois where he assisted in guiding the Huskies to a 1998 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship title. McCauley coached at fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) foe Bellarmine (Ky.) from 1991-97, which included taking over as the Knights' head coach in 1992. McCauley began his coaching career in 1990 at NCAA-I Louisville instructing the Cardinal goalkeepers.

Missouri-St. Louis: The Tritons, who are coached by fifth-year head coach Wendy Dillinger, are currently 2-7-0 overall and 1-5-0 in the GLVC this fall. UMSL lost its fourth match in a row this past Sunday (Sept. 30) as the Tritons came out on the short end of a 2-1 league home decision to Lewis at UMSL's Don Dallas Soccer Field in St. Louis, Mo. UMSL, which lost 2-0 at home to Truman State last Friday (Sept. 28) in GLVC competition, is 1-3-0 on the road and 1-4-0 at home this season. Truman State: The Bulldogs improved their record to 8-2-0 overall and 4-2-0 in the GLVC this season with a 2-1 overtime conference home victory over Maryville this last Sunday (Sept. 30) at TSU's Bulldog Soccer Park in Kirksville, Mo., in what represented their second win in a row. Truman State, which posted a 2-0 league road triumph at Missouri-St. Louis this last Friday (Sept. 28) at UMSL's Don Dallas Soccer Field in St. Louis, Mo., is 4-1 both at home and on the road this season to date. The Bulldogs, who are under the guidance of 26th-year head coach Mike Cannon, go up against Drury this Friday (Oct. 5) at DU's Curry Sports Complex/Harrison Stadium in Springfield, Mo. TSU completed the 2017 campaign at 6-6-5 overall, which included a 6-5-4 conference mark.

All-Time Record: The 2018 campaign represents S&T's 37th season of intercollegiate women's soccer competition since the program's inception in 1982. The Miners have presently amassed a 221-360-47 record (.389) to date. S&T has recorded six 10 or more victories in a season – 10-5 (1983), 12-7 (1986), 12-6-2 (1994), 15-3-1 (1997), 10-7 (1998), and 10-7-1 (1999).

Chayse Richardson (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville) scored her first goal of this season in the Miners' 4-1 conference home loss to Rockhurst last Sunday (Sept. 30) and has accumulated eight career points (2-4=8) in 39 contests. Richardson tallied a goal with four assists for six points in 16 matches last season and has two points (1-0=2) in nine outings to date this campaign ... Senior midfielders

2018 GLVC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll: S&T was tabbed 14th in the
2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Coaches Preseason Poll as the Miners earned 14 points. McKendree was picked to win the conference with 159 points and six first-place votes while Quincy garnered five first-place votes and garnered 151 points. Bellarmine, which placed third, received the remaining three first-place votes and totaled 149 points. Maryville (130 pts.) and Truman State (117 pts.) rounded out the top five, respectively. Claiming the sixth-place spot was Rockhurst, which received 106 points, followed by Southern Indiana (103 pts.), Indianapolis (81 pts.), Illinois Springfield (68 pts.), and Lewis (56 pts.). Missouri-St. Louis (52 pts.), Drury (50 pts.), and William Jewell (38 pts.) occupied places 11th through 13th. The 14 league coaches weren't allowed to vote for their own teams.
2018 S&T Roster: Missouri S&T's 2018 active roster consists of seven seniors, 11 juniors, seven sophomores, and four freshmen. Twelve of the 29 student-athletes play at the defender position while nine others are midfielders, five goalkeepers, and three forwards. Ten individuals hail from the state of Illinois while eight are from Missouri.
