Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners open the home portion of its 2017 schedule on Friday night hosting the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds beginning at 5 p.m. at the S&T Soccer Field. Both teams are coming off of one goal losses on Sunday as the Lady Miners lost at Christian Brothers 2-1 and the Greyhounds fell to Saginaw Valley 1-0. On Sunday S&T travels to Louisville, Ky., to take on Bellarmine in an 11 am (CDT) start.

Kayla Foster (Sand Springs, Okla./Charles Page) put the S&T on the board in the 12
th minute running down a long throw-in from
Chayse Richardson (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville) and chipping one over the keeper from 20 yards out. The Lady Miners struggled to get their offense going generating only four shots in the contest.
Liz Carrano (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) stopped 12 of 14 shots faced in her S&T debut.
The Lady Miners have won two straight and three of the last four meetings against the 'Hounds played in Rolla. Last season S&T scored a pair of first half goals to take a 2-0 lead into the break only to see UIndy level the match with a pair of goals in the second half. The Lady Miners were able to pull out the win halfway through the first overtime as
Leah Camery (Anchorage, Alaska/Steller Secondary School) scored the game-winner.
The Greyhounds opened their season with a 1-0 win over Urbana last Thursday. They outshot the Knights 25-5 and 11-1 in shots on goal. Michele Govern scored the game-winner with 0:46 left in regulation off an assist from Stephanie Burdsall. On Sunday against Saginaw Valley, the 'Hounds gave up a goal in the 55
th minute and that proved to be the difference in their loss to the Cardinals.
Bellarmine heads into Friday's contest at Maryville with a record of 1-0 after upsetting second ranked Grand Valley State 2-1 in double overtime on Sunday night in Louisville. Samantha Ferry scored the game-winning goal with 1:53 left in the contest tracking down a long pass from Annabel Moore and shot it in from 18 yards out.
