Women’s Soccer returns home to face Quincy and Truman State

Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners return home this weekend to take on Quincy and Truman State in a pair of Great Lakes Valley contests. The Lady Miners and Hawks square off on Friday at 5 p.m. while S&T and the Bulldogs will do battle on Sunday beginning at 12 p.m.

The Lady Miners look to break a couple of streaks on Friday against Quincy. S&T is still looking for its first win of the season and also looks to break a four-game stretch without a goal. Kayla Foster (Sand Springs, Okla./Charles Page) continues to lead the Lady Miner attack with her three goals on the season. Rylee Hanes (Ladera Ranch, Calif./San Juan Hills) has a goals against average of 1.60 and a save percentage of .800.

The Hawks (5-0, 3-0 GLVC) have outscored their opponents 8-1 to begin the season. Quincy went 430 minutes to begin the season without allowing a goal until Drury's Gabby Menendez scored on Sunday off a rebound.

Mackenzie Rief leads the Hawks in scoring with five points while Alex Severino and Katie Heiligenstein have tallied four points each. Maddie Bauer and Mary Maloney have scored a goal each. Megan Swanson has played every minute in goal making 23 saves, has a save percentage of .958, a goals against average of 0.20 and has posted four shutouts.

Truman enters play this weekend at 2-2-2, 2-1-1 heading into Friday's contest at Drury. The Bulldogs got off to a slow start this year going 0-2-2 in their first four contests but have won their last two defeating William Jewell 1-0 and Rockhurst 4-0 this past weekend.

Allison Lockett leads the team in scoring with two goals and an assist while Kelsey Murphy has a goal and two assists. Hanna Hickey, Delaney Kooken, Addy Hoffman and Paige Peterson have scored a goal each. Katie Mattingly has played every minute in goal for the 'Dogs. She has stopped 26 of 32 shots, has posted two shutouts and has a goals against average of 0.93.
