ROLLA, Mo. – For the first time since Sept. 9, the Miners will play at Allgood-Bailey Stadium as it welcomes McKendree to town for a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest on Hall of Fame Night at Missouri S&T.
The Miners enter Saturday's game as winners of five straight games after sweeping a stretch away from home and will look to win six straight for the first time since 2012 and keep pace with GLVC leader Indianapolis in the league standings in the process.
McKendree, on the other hand, is seeking to end a two-game skid after dropping an overtime decision last week at Davenport. The Bearcats come into the game at 4-3 overall and 2-1 in GLVC play.
ABOUT THE MINERS: Missouri S&T picked up its fifth straight win to improve to 5-2 on the season and 3-0 in the GLVC with a 37-3 win last week at Lincoln. S&T scored twice in the first four minutes of the game, then outscored the Blue Tigers 23-0 in the second half to pull away.
The Miner defense held Lincoln to 199 yards in last week's win and enter Saturday's game with the second-ranked defense in the GLVC, allowing just 295.9 yards per contest.
Austin Truvillion (Kansas City, MO/Park Hill) led S&T with 10 tackles a week ago and has a team-high 62 stops on the year.

Deshawn Jones (Olympia Fields, IL/Rich Central), the leading rusher in the GLVC with 901 yards on the year, cleared the 100-yard mark for the fifth straight game a week ago with 115 yards at Lincoln. Two weeks ago, Jones ran for a school and GLVC-record 275 yards in the Miners' win over Saint Francis (Ill.). Jones comes into the game ranked seventh in NCAA Division II in rushing.
Quarterback
Tyler Swart (Dickinson, TX/Dickinson) continues to lead the GLVC in passing with a league-high 2,055 yards and 14 scores; he is currently tied for sixth in Division II in passing. He has seven different players who have caught at least 10 passes this year, led by
Braxton Graham (Seneca, MO/Seneca) with 36 receptions for 603 yards, while
Justin Vaughn (Houston, TX/George Bush) has hauled in 25 for 405 yards on the season.
ABOUT McKENDREE: Following a season-opening loss at Angelo State, the Bearcats won their next four games before dropping decisions to Indianapolis and Davenport -- the latter in double overtime -- to bring a 4-3 record into this week's contest.
The Bearcats bring one of the GLVC's top rushing attacks to town, averaging 172.6 yards per game behind the work of Shayeen Edwards, who is third in the GLVC with 618 yards on the year. Edwards had 120 yards on the ground in last week's game to go over the 2,000-yard mark for his career.
