Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners head to Springfield, Mo., to take on the Drury Panthers in the season finale for both squads on Wednesday evening. S&T (4-10, 4-9 GLVC) looks to end the season on positive note with a third win in its last four contests.
The Lady Miners went 1-1 last weekend picking up a 1-0 win at William Jewell on
Kayla Foster (Sand Springs, Okla./Charles Page)'s team leading sixth goal of the season and
Karen Nightingale (Ellisville, Mo./Marquette) picked up her second career shutout. On Sunday, S&T fell to 16
th ranked Rockhurst 1-0 on a goal in the 58
th minute.
Foster continues to lead the team in scoring with her six goals and 12 points while
Leah Camery (Anchorage, Alaska/Steller Secondary School) and
Julie Bride (Stilwell, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) have scored two goals each. Nightingale has played every minute in goal making 66 saves and has a goals against average of 1.85.
Drury enters Wednesday's contest with a mark of 4-10-2, 2-10-2 GLVC and is 1-6-1 in its last eight games. The Panthers dropped a 2-0 decision at Rockhurst last Friday and then suffered a 2-1 setback at home against William Jewell on Sunday.
Drury has scored a total of 12 goals this season while allowing 27 and is led in scoring by Kerri Morris with four goals and an assist for a total of nine points. Uxoa Bertiz Ayuso and Kayal Day have each tallied five points. Tina Haberberger has played a majority of the minutes in goal making 81 saves, has a goals against average of 1.25 and has posted three shutouts.
