Women’s Soccer travels to William Jewell, hosts Rockhurst this weekend

Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Miner women's soccer team has a split weekend this weekend heading to Liberty, Mo., on Friday evening to take on William Jewell at 5 p.m. and on Sunday will play host to Rockhurst in the home finale. Sunday will also be Senior Day with the Lady Miners honoring their seniors prior to kickoff.

S&T (3-9, 3-8 GLVC) looks snap a 13-game road losing streak dating back to last season when it takes on the Cardinals on Friday night. The Lady Miners also look to snaps a four-game goalless streak on the road not having scored a road goal since the Lewis match on Sept. 18.
Kayla Foster (Sand Springs, Okla./Charles Page) continues to lead the team in scoring with her five goals and 10 points while Leah Camery (Anchorage, Alaska/Steller Secondary School) has added two goals and an assist and Julie Bride (Stilwell, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) has added a pair of goals. Julia Crets (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) and Anna Fink (Fulton, Mo./Fulton) have three points each (1 goal, two assists). Karen Nightingale (Ellisville, Mo./Marquette) has played every minute in goal with 56 saves and a goals against average of 2.07.

William Jewell enters Friday's contest with a mark of 3-9-2, 3-8-1 GLVC after going 1-1 last weekend splitting a pair of home matches with Illinois Springfield and McKendree. The Cardinals defeated the Prairie Stars 2-0 last Friday and then lost to the Bearcats 2-0 on Sunday.

Jewell has scored just a total of seven goals this season and is averaging only 12 shots per game. Emily Monroe and Natalie Owens lead the squad in scoring with five and four points respectively. Monroe has tallied two goals and an assist while Owens has scored two goals. Jordan Lewis has played a majority of the minutes in goal with a goals against average of 1.29 while making 73 saves, has a save percentage of 82 percent and has posted four shutouts.

Rockhurst enters Friday's contest against Drury with a 12-1-2 record, 9-1-2 GLVC and is battling with Truman State for the regular season championship. The Hawks have won three straight overall and have scored 12 goals in those contest while yielding two goals. Rockhurst defeated McKendree 2-1 last Friday and then won over Illinois Springfield 6-1.

The Hawks are averaging nearly 2.1 goals per contest and have yielded a total of seven goals in 15 games. They've got four players with over 10 points led by Kaley Neiters with 15 points (6 goals, three assists) while Brandi Vollmer has four goals and five assists for 13 points, Courtney Silberberg has tallied 12 points and Kristin Wolff has scored five goals. 12 different players have scored a goal for Rockhurst. Ali Wallner has played a majority of the minutes in allowing only six goals on 56 shots faced and has made 22 saves and posted five shutouts. Rosie Breheny has played over 400 minutes in goal posting three shutouts and has made seven saves.
