Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Women's soccer team returns home for the start of two-game homestand on Friday beginning with the Bellarmine Knights in a 5 p.m. kick-off. The homestand concludes on Sunday against Southern Indiana at 12 p.m.
S&T (2-8, 2-7 GLVC) has scored eight of its 11 goals at home this season and has picked up both of its wins on the home turf. The Lady Miners look to bounce back after suffering back-to-back shutouts last weekend at McKendree and Illinois Springfield.
Kayla Foster (Sand Springs, Okla./Charles Page) continues to lead the squad in scoring with her three goals and six points while
Julie Bride (Stilwell, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) and
Anna Fink (Fulton, Mo./Fulton) have tallied four points apiece.
Karen Nightingale (Ellisville, Mo./Marquette) has played over 900 minutes in goal and has a goals against average of 2.09 with 48 saves and a shutout.
Bellarmine enters Friday's contest with a record of 9-1-2, 7-1-2 GLVC and is unbeaten in its last seven contests. The Knights went 1-0-1 in a pair of home contests last weekend tying Rockhurst 1-1 in double overtime last Friday and defeated William Jewell 2-0 on Sunday.
Bellarmine is outscoring its opposition by a 22-7 margin and has registered a goal in 11 of 12 contests this season. Olivia Taylor leads the team in scoring with 15 points (6 goals, three assists) along with Mary Beth Gorham who has registered five goals and four assists for 14 points. Audrey Van Der Elst has scored four goals and Lauren Holder has two goals and six assists. Hannah Poteet has played a majority of the minutes in goal with 0.58 goals against average and has posted three shutouts.
Southern Indiana enters Friday's match at Drury on a two-game losing streak and is 7-6 on the year, 4-6 in GLVC play. The Screaming Eagles were shutout twice at home last weekend dropping a 1-0 decision in double overtime against William Jewell and a 4-0 decision to Rockhurst.
Gabriella Korte, Olivia Wilde and Ryley Hancock have scored four goals each for USI while Carlie Scales has added three goals. Emily Hopkins and Courtney Lofland have split time in goal with Hopkins compiling nearly 800 minutes with a goals against average of 1.37 and two shutouts while Lofland has played over 400 minutes allowing just four goals and has a goals against average of 0.89.
