Rolla, Mo. – Missouri S&T's women's soccer team hits the road weekend to St. Louis looking for its first win in Great Lakes Valley Conference action. The Lady Miners will play at Maryville on Friday at 4 p.m. and will then take on Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday at 12 p.m.
S&T looks to build off its 1-1 tie against McKendree this past Sunday and will try and snap a six match winless streak. The Lady Miners have won three straight matches against the Saints and six of the last eight overall.
Maryville enters Friday's match with a record of 4-3-1 overall, 3-2-1 in the GLVC after going 1-1 last weekend against Lewis and Wisconsin-Parkside. The Saints outshot the Flyers 20-6 and 11-2 in shots on goal but dropped a 1-0 decision allowing a goal five minutes into the second half. Maryville bounced back on Sunday rallying from a 3-1 second half deficit to win 4-3. Hana McGinis scored the game tying goal on a bicycle kick and then scored the game winner in the 79
th minute chipping a ball over the keeper's head from 35 yards out.
McGinis and Shnnon Foley lead the team in scoring with 10 points apiece. McGinis has scored five goals on the season while Foley has four goals and two assists. Amanda Wiechens has tallied four goals as well. Madison Buelow has played a majority of the minutes in goal allowing four goals in nearly 477 minutes while making 23 saves and has posted three shutouts.
Missouri-St. Louis enters this weekend's competition with a record of 4-1-2 overall and is 3-1-2 in league play. The Tritons are riding a four match unbeaten streak into Friday night's contest with Drury and have outscored their opponents 19-4 this season. Last weekend UMSL picked up a 2-1 win over Wisconsin-Parkside and then defeated Lewis 4-0 on Sunday.
The Tritons are led in scoring by McKayla Harder and Miriam Taylor with nine and eight points respectively. Both players have scored four goals while Kayla Delgado and Kali Thomas have two goals each. Megan Ohm has played over 600 minutes in goal and has a 0.60 goals against average and has made 25 saves.
