Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners conclude its four match homestand this weekend hosting Lewis on Friday evening at 5 p.m. and Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday at 12 p.m. at the S&T Soccer Field. S&T looks to snap a 10 game winless streak when it hosts the Flyers. Sunday's contest is a rematch of last year's GLVC Championship game which Parksisde won 4-1.
The Lady Miners have yet to score a goal in back-to-back games this season and look to snap that streak as well on Friday. Julie Bride (Stilwell, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) leads the S&T offense with two goals while Mikaela Mockenhaupt (Oswego, Ill./Oswego), Catherine Hawn (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) and Morgan Sikora (Highland, Ill./Highland) have a goal each.
The Lady Miners trail Lewis in the all-time series 11-6-1 but have won five of the last seven meetings.
Lewis enters this weekend's action with a record of 7-4-2, 5-3-2 GLVC and are currently in a tie for sixth in the conference standings with McKendree. The Flyers trail Drury and Quincy by a game for fourth place. This past weekend Lewis split a pair of home matches defeating Southern Indiana 1-0 and losing to Bellarmine 1-0.
The Flyers are well balanced offensively having scored 18 goals on the season with four players having scored at least three. Maggie Moran leads the way with five goals and has assisted on five others while Mackenzie Fuller has tallied four goals and three assists. Lauren Grady and Meg Carmody have scored three goals each. Jennifer Meyer has played a majority of the minutes in goal allowing 15 goals in almost 1,150 minutes played for a goals against average of 1.02. She's made 65 saves and registered five shutouts.
Wisconsin-Parkside enters Friday's match at Drury with a 4-7-1, 3-6-1 GLVC mark and are currently tied for 10th in the conference standings with Southern Indiana. The Rangers are going through a rebuilding year after the departure of long time head coach Troy Fabiano who left after last season to take the job at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Last weekend UW-Parkside dropped a 1-0 decision to Bellarmine then defeated Southern Indiana 4-1.
The Rangers have scored 15 goals on the season but have given up 15 as well. Jillian Hetfleisch and Vianey Hernandez have combined to score 10 of the team's goals while Lauren Bialas has added three goals. Sarah Dobrowolski has played 1,068 minutes in goal making 44 saves, has a goals against average of 1.26 and posted four shutouts.
