Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 (Memphis, Tenn.) – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 3-0 win at Christian Brothers University on Tuesday afternoon in Memphis, Tenn. The Lady Miners (5-14) had seven hits in the opener and scored single runs in the first three innings. S&T rallied from an 8-2 deficit to win the nightcap 12-11. The 12 runs in the nightcap were a season-high for S&T.

In the first game the Lady Miners got a lead-off single from Andi Davis (Blue Springs, Mo./Archbishop O'Hara ) who stole second and third and scored on a throwing error by the catcher. S&T added to its lead in the second inning. Adrienne Kruse (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) led the inning off with a single and scored two batters later when Cassie Rizzo (Webster Groves, Mo./Webster Groves) tripled to right field.

The Lady Miners made it 3-0 in the third. Cailey Baker (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield) reached on an error with two outs and went to third on a double by Savannah Fedorchak (Oakville, Mo./Oakville). Baker scored when the second baseman muffed the throw back into the infield.

That would be all the run support Becca Strope (Glen Carbon, Ill./Edwardsville) needed as she held the Lady Buc (6-22) to just four hits in the game. She needed only 82 pitches to pick up the complete game victory and earned her third shutout of the season. She struck out two and walked two in the contest.

Kruse led the S&T offense with two hits while Rizzo had the lone RBI.
In the second game the Lady Miners again jumped out to an early lead with a run in the first inning. Shelby Michaelis (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) started the rally with a one out single and then stole second. She came around to score on Baker's single to center.

The lead didn't hold up as Christian Brothers scored five runs on four hits and took advantage of two errors by S&T in the bottom half of the inning. The Lady Miners got a run back in the fourth on an RBI double from Kruse to bring home Baker who started the rally with a one out double.

The Lady Bucs pushed the lead to 8-2 in the home half of the fourth on a three-run homer by Kylie Steagall. S&T battled back scoring five runs in the top of the fifth getting a two-run single from Michaelis, an RBI walk from Baker and another RBI from Kruse. The Lady Miners had a chance to tie the game but Cassie Seaman (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny) lined into a double play to first to end the inning.

Christian Brothers added to their lead with a solo home run by Taylor Rosa-Ramon in the bottom half of the fifth. S&T scored four times in the sixth to take the lead. Dana Lawson (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette) led off with a double to right and went to third on a ground out. With two outs Michaelis walked and then
Kyra Slemp (Roeland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission East) singled through the left side of the infield to make it 9-8. Baker then reached on a fielding error by the second baseman which allowed Michaelis to score to tie the game. Fedorchak put S&T back in front with a single to left to bring home Slemp and Baker.

The Lady Bucs scored twice in the sixth to tie the game, but the Lady Miners retook the lead in the seventh on an RBI double by Michaelis with two outs to score Rizzo from first. Christian Brothers loaded the bases with two outs in the seventh before Amber Duncan (Centralia, Mo./Centralia) coaxed a ground out to third to end the game.

S&T banged out a season-high 14 hits in the win and had six players with two hits. Michaelis finished with three RBIs while Baker, Fedorchak and Kruse had two RBIs each. Duncan got the win allowing four runs, three earned, on six hits and a walk.
