Box Score (Rolla, Mo.) – Karli Sample (St. Joseph, Mo./Benton) scored a career-high 34 points but it wasn't enough as Missouri S&T fell
83-81 at William Jewell on Saturday afternoon. S&T shot a season high 58.3 percent from the field but was outrebounded 37-to-29 and turned it over 19 times. Despite the loss the Lady Miners still clinched a spot in the GLVC Tournament.
The two teams traded baskets to start the game as the Cardinals (11-14, 6-11 GLVC) led 10-7 2:39 into the contest before going on a 17-6 run over the next 5:30 to build a 27-13 lead. William Jewell hit 10 of its first 13 shots to begin the game and was 6-for-7 from beyond the arc.
S&T (9-16, 5-12 GLVC) responded scoring 13 of the next 15 points over the next four-plus minutes to get within 29-26 on a layup by Leigh Ann-Kesper. The Cardinals pushed the lead back to seven on basket by Cassy Nicolay and two free throws by Chelsea Meeks.

The Lady Miners hit 13 of their 22 field goals (59.1 percent) in the second half but went just 11-for-16 from the line and that proved to be the difference in the game. Sample finished the game shooting 12-for-16 from the floor and was 10-of-12 at the foul line. She also had seven rebounds and four steals. Cooper added 17 points and nine rebounds. Askew and McLeod had nine and eight points respectively.
