KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri S&T's volleyball team had its four match winning streak snapped in a
3-0 (16-25, 15-25, 17-25) loss at Rockhurst on Friday evening. The Miners have already clinched a bid in the GLVC Tournament before Friday's contest, but fell to seventh in the GLVC standings due to McKendree and Missouri-St. Louis's wins.
Rockhurst (24-3, 15-2 GLVC), one of the top offensive and defensive teams in the league, held S&T (16-12, 11-6 GLVC) to just a .140 hitting percentage for the match while the Hawks themselves hit .290 for the match.
Rockhurst led for a majority of the contest as there were only four ties and two lead changes in the contest.
Alison Mueller (Bartelso, Ill./Mater Dei ) led the Miners with 10 kills while
Gracey Moon (Kirkwood, Mo./Kirkwood) added nine and
Krista Haslag (Linn, Mo./Helias ) and
Jackie Zellmer (Nixa, Mo./Nixa) had six kills each.
Allie Plunk (Hurst, Texas/Birdville) dished out 27 assists and
Jackie Pyles (White Lake, Mich./West Bloomfield) had 14 digs.
Preecy Seever led the Hawks with 10 kills while Emily Ready contributed nine. Morgan Rietzke and Alyssa Arnold had seven kills each. Whitney Kostal distributed 30 assists and Anne Hellwege had a match-high 17 digs.
S&T concludes the regular season on Saturday with a trip to William Jewell to square-off against the Cardinals at 5 p.m.
