Biography
2014: Pyles played in all 32 matches and appeared in every set but one...primarily saw time as the libero where she led the team with 556 digs and averaged 4.60 digs/set....she also lead the team with 23 service aces and was third on the squad with 82 set assists...also saw time as an outside hitter recording 59 kills in 216 attempts...she had two matches with double figure kill totals including a career-high 19 in a four set win over Drury on Sept. 30...she also finished the season with 30 matches of double figure dig totals highlighted by a 32 dig perfomance against Columbia College on Sept. 9...she recorded 10 matches with at least 20 digs and two with at least 30 digs.
Boise State: She played in 25 matches as a reserve defensive specialist and saw action in a total of 55 sets in her two seasons. She recorded one assist, four serves aces and 29 digs as a freshman and sophomore. Her first action for the Broncos came against Portland State (Aug. 25) in Seattle at the Northwest Challenge finishing with one assist and career-high six digs.
High School: a 2012 graduate of West Bloomfield High School in West Bloomfield, Mich...she was a four-year starter on the Lakers' varsity team averaging 3.7 kills, 0.1 blocks, 0.6 aces and 6.8 digs per game as a senior...she helped lead the team to a 6-1 league mark and a second-place finish...the Lakers advanced to the district tournament all four years...Pyles was a three-time All-OAA First Team honoree, honorable mention all-state senior year, three-time OAA All-Star and AVCA Player of the Week once as a senior, two-time team captain, team MVP and "Golden Standard Award" winner...she was named the Laker of the Year as a senior and she also lettered in softball during her freshman and sophomore years earning two-time all-conference first team, two-time all-region and honorable mention all-state recognition. She was named West Bloomfield High's "Outstanding Female Athlete" for the class of 2012, was named one of Oakland County's Top 25 Volleyball Players to Watch, was a three-time Academic All-State honoree, National Honor Society member and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Personal: Daughter of Bob and Jeanne Pyles...majoring in electrical engineering...her brother Drew played baseball for the Miners from 2009-12.
