(Rolla, Mo.) – The Missouri S&T women's soccer team looks to continue its recent run off success at home this weekend when it takes on Illinois Springfield and Southern Indiana. Since dropping their home opener to Lindenwood on Sept. 9, the Lady Miners have won four straight at home and haven't allowed a goal.
S&T (5-7, 5-5 GLVC) looks to bounce back after having its three game winning streak snapped this past Sunday in a 3-0 loss at Bellarmine. The Lady Miners are currently eighth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings and can move up with a pair of wins this weekend. The top eight teams in the conference standings advance to the conference tournament.
Illinois Springfield enters play this weekend riding a 10-game winless streak. The Prairie Stars are 2-8-2, 0-8-2 in the GLVC and have scored a total of six goals for the season. Last weekend
UIS suffered a pair of home defeats to Rockhurst 3-0 and William Jewell 1-0. Kim Tokarski leads the Prairie Stars with three goals while Regina Bolin has scored twice.
On Sunday S&T will welcome the Screaming Eagles from Southern Indiana to Rolla. USI has a record of 3-7-2 overall and are 2-6-2 in the GLVC. Two of the Screaming Eagles three wins this season have come on the road. USI went 1-1 last weekend defeating William Jewell 3-2 in double overtime before losing to Rockhurst 3-1 on Sunday. The Eagles have scored a total of 11 goals and are led in scoring by Gabriella Korte with a goal and three assists for a total of five points. Haley Rheinlander and Madi Velky have scored two goals each while Maura Hulme has a goal and two assists.
