Box Score ROLLA, Mo. – Drury's fast start sent Missouri S&T to defeat in its final game of the 2012-13 season Thursday night, as the eighth-ranked Panthers handed the Miners an
81-60 setback at Billy Key Court.
Alex Hall, the second-leading scorer in the Great Lakes Valley Conference when the night began, set the tone for the evening when he drilled a three-pointer just 10 seconds into the contest. The Panthers scored the first eight points of the game and after the Miners cut that initial lead in half, rattled off a 16-0 run that gave them a 20-point lead with only eight minutes gone.
Hall scored 27 of his game-high 33 points in the first half and finished the night going a perfect six-of-six from three-point range to break the school's career record for three-pointers in the process.
The Miners trailed by 22 at halftime, but outscored the Panthers (22-4, 16-2 GLVC) 36-35 after the break and forced Drury into a season-high 24 turnovers in a very physical game.
Nusrath Khan (Morton Grove, Ill./Maine East) led S&T with a career-high 19 points, while Zach Ellis also finished in double figures with 15. The Miners shot 40 percent from the floor in the game were outrebounded by a 31-25 margin.
Michael Jackson (Wichita, Kan./Wichita East), one of four seniors playing in their final game at S&T Thursday, led the Miners with six rebounds.
Eli Steinbeck (Hermann, Mo./Hermann),
Filmore Bouldes (Romulus, Mich./Romulus) and
Brian Gifford (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North) also closed out their S&T careers and all three scored in Thursday's contest.
The Miners finished the 2012-13 season with an overall record of 7-18 and a 3-15 mark in the GLVC.
