(Rolla, Mo.) - The Missouri S&T Lady Miners will take a break from Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Tuesday evening as it plays host to McKendree University at 7 p.m. on Billy Key Court. The Bearcats are playing as a Division II Independent this season but will be a member of the GLVC next year and will be eligible for the conference tournament in select sports.
S&T (14-6) is coming off an 89-70 win over Illinois Springfield at home on Saturday. Five Lady Miners scored in double figures led by
Julie Meyer (Marthasville, Mo./St. Francis Borgia)'s 15 points.
Courtney Kemp (Fredricktown, Mo./Fredricktown) added 14 more while
Hailee Parks (Sullivan, Mo./Sullivan) and
Toni Knar (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) dropped in 12 apiece.
Quintonia Evans (Evansville, Ind./) chipped in 10 as well.
The Bearcats (7-15) snapped their 13-game losing streak with a 73-66 win at home over Missouri Baptist last Tuesday. Ashley Agee scored 21 in the contest. She was 15-for-17 at the foul line. Brittany Willis and Caty Ponce scored 19 and 17 respectively.
McKendree has played six GLVC schools this season going 1-5 in those contests with its lone win coming at Lewis 64-57 on November 14th. It's led in scoring by Ponce whose averaging 13.9 points per game. Willis is averaging 10.4 ppg while Agee is adding 10.1 points of the bench.
After Tuesday's game S&T will head out on the road for three straight beginning Thursday night at Missouri-St. Louis at 5:30 p.m.
