S&T set to host Rattlers in home opener

(Rolla, Mo.) - The Missouri S&T Lady Miners will tip off the home portion of its 2012-13 season on Friday night when it plays host to the St. Mary's (Texas) Rattlers at 7 p.m., at the Bullman Multi-Purpose Building.

S&T is looking to build off its season opening 68-64 win at McKendree this past Tuesday evening. In that game the Lady Miners came back from 21 down with 4:00 to play in the first half to pull out the win. The 21-point deficit was the largest overcome to win a game in school history. Kyesha Hall (Dodson, La./), Hailee Parks (Sullivan, Mo./Sullivan) and Kylie Cooper (Andover, Kan./Andover) combined for 48 of the team's points and 20 of its rebounds. Hall also had six steals in the contest.

St. Mary's enters Friday's contest at 2-0 after winning a pair of games in its home classic last week. The Rattlers blew past Cameron University (Okla.) 78-49 last Saturday and then on Sunday defeated Minnesota-Duluth 71-63. STMU is averaging 74.5 points per contest and allowing just 56 per contest. The Rattlers have three players averaging double figures in scoring led by Jackie Woods with 14.5 ppg. Morgan Pullins and Mariah Lee are averaging 10.5 and 10.0 points per game respectively.
