Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 (Bolivar, Mo.) – The Missouri S&T Lady Miners had its five game winning streak snapped dropping game one at Southwest Baptist 2-1 in eight innings then won the second game 6-2 on Tuesday afternoon in Bolivar.

S&T (24-18) fell behind early in game one giving up a double down the right field line to Nina Amaro-Garcia with one out in the first scoring Krysta Baderdeen from second. The Bearcats (19-26) had a chance for more but a base running by Amaro-Garcia caused Sarah Brison to be picked off at third then a strikeout ended the frame.

The Lady Miners had a chance to tie the game in the fourth putting runners at second and third with two out but couldn't get the tying hit. They broke through in the fifth again putting runners at second and third with two out. Kristen Drage grounded into a fielder's choice to the shortstop and Krista Porterfield got in a rundown long enough to allow Katie Smith to score before being tagged out to end the inning.

S&T had a golden opportunity to break the tie in the sixth getting their first two hitters on but a pair of strikeouts and a lineout to short ended that threat.

Neither team mustered a scoring chance in the seventh and the game went to the tiebreaker in the eighth.

With Jennifer Sardigal on second to start the inning, Drage singled through the left side advancing Sardigal to third and then she advanced to second on the throw back in. Briana Catanese grounded out to second for the first out then Coley Naughton lifted a foul pop fly down the left field line and the third basemen made a sliding catch. Sardigal tagged up on the play and appeared to score the go ahead run but was out on a questionable call at the plate to end the inning.

SBU won it with a single back up the middle on the first pitch of the bottom of the eighth.

The Lady Miners had six hits in the contest but left eight runners on base including seven in scoring position. Drage and Kassi Deibert had two hits apiece to lead the S&T offense.

Ashley Wallingford was the tough luck loser allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits while walking two and striking out six in the complete game loss.

In the nightcap S&T gout out to a 3-0 lead scoring three times in the second inning. Maggie Schroeder hit an RBI double to left to drive in the first run. Lauren Briggs reached on a bunt single then stole second. Porterfield then singled up the middle to score Schroeder from third and move Briggs to third. Sardigal drove in the final run with a sacrifice fly down to left.

The Lady Miners added two more in the fourth on a two-out, two-run double off the bat off Sardigal to center scoring Briggs and Porterfield to make it 5-0.

The Bearcats got one of those back in the bottom half of the fourth on a home run by Baderdeen to lead off the inning.

S&T got its final run in the fifth on a RBI single to the shortstop from Smith scoring Becky Davis.

SBU scored its final run on an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh.
