Box Score The Missouri S&T volleyball team picked up its second straight Great Lakes Valley Conference victory rallying from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Saint Joseph's
3-2 on Thursday evening in Rensselaer, Ind. The victory for the Lady Miners marked the first time since the program started back in 2007 that they have won back-to-back conference matches.
S&T (4-14, 2-6 GLVC) won the opening game 25-23 before dropping the next two 21-25 and 22-25. The Lady Miners battled back to win game four 25-23 setting up the fifth and deciding game which they won 15-10, hitting .300 percent with eight kills against two attack errors in 20 chances.
S&T finished the evening with 211 total attacks compared to just 161 for the Pumas (7-9, 2-5 GLVC). The Lady Miners capitalized on 31 SJC attack errors in the contest including nine in the fourth game and four more in the fifth game.
Julie Meyer (Marthasville, Mo./St. Francis Borgia) had a big night recording career-highs in kills with 17 and digs with 20. She also led the team in hitting percentage at .260 (17k/4e/50ta).
Bridget Williams (Topeka, Kan./Hayden) and
Annie Smith (St. Louis, Mo./Incarnate Word Academy) each recorded career-highs in digs with Williams picking 42 balls of the floor while Smith snagged 21.
Danielle Kracl (Omaha, Neb./Burke) finished the match with 18 assists.
