Finished third on the team in blocks with 60, while also finishing fourth on the team in attack attempts with 474 and fifth on the team in kills (114), assists (24) and points (145) ... Awarded the Missouri S&T Scholar Athlete Award by the S&T MClub... Named a 2009-10 Great Lakes Valley Conference Academic All-Conference selection.
2008: Finished fourth on the team in both attack attempts (256) and points (88.0), and finished fifth in both kills (61) and assists (17) … Registered career and team (tied) high in blocks with seven at Illinois-Springfield, also scoring a career high nine points. (10/24) … Hit a career high .750 attack percentage (3k-0e-4a) versus North Alabama at the Missouri S&T/Holiday Inn Express ‘Middle of Everywhere’ Classic (8/29) … Received the Most Improved Award (greatest improvement throughout the season) and the Miner Strength Award (overall strength and work ethic in weight training/conditioning) as voted by teammates, as well as the Coaches Award (for outstanding dedication & determination).
2007: Redshirted for the season. Did not play…Received the Coaches Award for outstanding dedication and determination…Awarded the Missouri S&T Scholar Athlete Award by the S&T M-Club.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Was named to the all-state team as well as the all-conference team as she played on a state championship team at Jonesboro High School….in her senior year, Herron accumulated 273 kills and 125 solo blocks and was named to the all-tournament at the state tournament last fall…played her club volleyball with the Arkansas Juniors and her team played in the 2006 junior nationals.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Trent and Liesha Herron…majoring in business…chose S&T for the academics and a unique opportunity to be a part of a new volleyball program.
