Maureen Nesbit is in her first year as the assistant volleyball coach at Missouri S&T after serving as a graduate assistant coach for the past two years at Lindenwood-Belleville for the men’s and women’s programs earning her master’s degree in management.

Nesbit, a native of Belleville, Ill., and a graduate of Althoff Catholic High School. She played four years on both the volleyball and soccer team. She led the Althoff volleyball team to a fourth place finish in the 2007 Illinois State Tournament and in 2010 she earned All-State Honorable Mention recognition.

Nesbit played Division I volleyball at Butler University for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. In 2010, Butler won the Horizon League Conference Championship. Nesbit, an outside hitter and defensive specialist, transferred to McKendree University for her final two years averaging 2.58 kills and 3.29 digs per set. She earned her degree in Health and Wellness in 2014, was a two-time Academic All-GLVC recipient and also received the GLVC’s Council of Presidents Academic Excellence Award as well.

Nesbit has also been coaching girls at the grade school, middle school and high school levels at various volleyball camps in the St. Louis area. Some of those camps include the PlyoCity Youth Development Program, Cutting Edge Volleyball Academy (CEVA), Althoff Catholic High School Volleyball Camps, Butler University Volleyball Camps, McKendree University Volleyball Camps, Incarnate Word Academy High School Team Camp, and Freeburg High School Team Camp. She also coached at the club level for Team Momentum Volleyball Club, St. Louis, Mo. 16 Navy in 2013 and 16 Orange in 2014 and High Perfomance in St. Louis this past year for ages 13-16.
